How can I manage my bi-polar while pregnant?

I recently found out that I’m pregnant! I’m about 8 weeks now, and my hormones have been through the roof. I’m severely bipolar and because I’m pregnant I had to stop taking my medication, so now all of my emotions are just going full force constantly. I’m very irritable and mean, and that’s so not who I am as a person. I’m scared it’s going to effect my relationship with my daughter and my family. Does anyone have tips on how to deal with this?

I would say talk with the doctor and go with what they say

the prentals helped me a ton. they also ccan prescribe a prescription benedryl…which will make you sleepy, but it will help you manage.

I’m bipolar. Hardcore. The best thing you can do is meditate and learn to distract/control your mind. I find picking up random hobbies definitely helps.

As long as you’re in a place where your doctor isn’t going to try and report it or anything like that marijuana I had a doctor that swore by it so I was able to smoke with all my pregnancies and you know what it was better than anything and all the kids came out great no health issues nothing healthy great babies

They have safe medication u can take while pregnant. Contact your doctor

Everyone is different for me pregnancy has helped with my bipolar symptoms both times … so I would say speak with your doctor about different medications, therapy and other ways to keep your mind at ease .

Don’t stop or change any meds until talking with your doctor. It’s just as stressful on baby as it is on you.

I’m the same way girlllll

Kristina Marie maybe you can help?

Distract your mind, walk away from whatever your around when your feeling a mood swing coming. When your irritable do something to calm you down. Baths help a ton! Just not too hot.

Different medication or stick it out till 2nd trimester… it gets better. I used CBD gummies to take edge off.

If you’re under the care of a psychiatrist, speak to them about what medications may be safe for pregnancy or tips on how to handle your emotions and mood swings.
