How much should I pay a nanny?

What’s the norm to pay a nanny that comes to your home per day?

Pretty vague… how many hours, age of children, cash or on the books…

it will vary A LOT based on your location. a nanny in NYC will probably cost 5 times more than a nanny in Tampa. if there’s a local moms group in your area i’d check with them - they’d have more ideas about what it’d cost. in my area (socal) a full time 6a-6p nanny five days a week is about $1000 a week. or about $15 an hour.

Depends on state, on age of child/ren, on hours. What is fair in one place would be wildly underpaid in another place.

Depends where you live. Southern California nannies are paid anywhere from $15-$25+ an hour and most are under the table while some are taxed.

Not much. A nanny shouldnt be making more than you an hr. And I think people forget that… if a nanny made more what’s the point of.working. I’d say 5 bucks an hr

Depends on the responsibilities you are putting on them, how many kids, etc.

Part time nanny …and most all families have paid 15 an hr. The ones I’m with now are $11 an hr but only one child.

I was a nanny in Ann Arbor, MI for 10 years. The kids were 1,3,5 when I started and I made $18 an hour and my nanny family paid my taxes on it.

We pay ours 700-750 a week for one child

To anyone suggesting below minimum wage … that’s wrong. This is a job too and needs to be treated as such. If you can’t afford to pay the proper wage for an employee, then take your child to headstart or daycare. A nanny is a luxury.

I did this about 6 years ago and was paid $10. per hr for 1 child. It would probably be closer to $15. now.

When I did it I was getting paid $500 a week for 5 days. This was for school age children (12, 14, 16)

Lmao I think people’s conception of being a nanny is HILARIOUS. Put that aside, I’m a newborn/infant specialist, and a newborn/infant nanny and I am payed $16.25/hour. It depends on the age of the child, the hours, the experience she has, and how many children.

$25 /$30 a hour depends on size of kids also

I wouldn’t pay a nanny or daycare more than $200/week for 5 days business hours. Anything more than that and they aren’t worth it to me.

£10 an hour I’d happily pay up to £15 for the right person
