I am a single mom but want to have another baby: Advice?

I’m a 30-year-old mother to a three-year-old little girl, single mom and love it that way, I’m very independent and not getting any younger, I want to have another baby, so my daughter has a sibling, but I won’t want to wait until she’s older I want them to be close in age, so I’m thinking about going to a facility, and I guess you can say get a sperm donor, but I’m not sure how to go about it, wanna no about pricing and does insurance cover any of it? Do I go to my ob-gyn for it or to an actual facility? If anyone knows anything will help thanks!

No idea ? Try doing a search for sperm banks .

You can get sperm for around 300. Talk to your insurance about what they will cover.

There is a fertility clinic close to where I live. I didn’t need a referral from my doctor or anything to see them. A fertility clinic is your best resource. You can always contact your insurance carrier to see what they cover for that. Good luck mama!

You would need to go through a facility that works with surrogacy and egg/sperm donation. Your OB would only be useful after you’re pregnant.

Also, insurance will probably only cover the pregnancy itself. Everything else isn’t medically necessary and therefore most likely won’t cover.

I did it with ivf Australia as they already have a donor registry. It’s roughly 3000 for iui insemination. 11000 for ivf. I had my son through ivf. Ask your gp for a referral and then make an appointment. I recommend Dr Louise Faye.

Is there a friend you trust to just get you pregnant? Would be cheaper :woman_shrugging:

Start with your own doctor they maybe able to give you a better idea of how it works

Unless you have an established history of infertility, it’s VERY difficult to get anything covered by insurance. If cost is an issue for you, you’re better off finding a sexual partner yourself and getting knocked up the old fashioned way.

Call your insurance and see if it requires you to have a referral. If not then google around you. You can use a donor sperm with IUIs that is not near the cost of IVF if the specialist thinks it would be a good fit. Best of luck!

Have one night stand🤷‍♀️

Go have you some fun with a good looking, smart and healthy guy! No strings attached kinda thing :joy:

Just go on tinder it would be easier

I had my first son at 22… Didnt want any more… Things happened and fell pregnant at 31… Vowed I wouldn’t be having any more after he was born… But during that pregnancy I met my now fiance and we are expecting a baby in June… You’re not too old… Things can happen… 10 year age gap between my 2 son’s is great… Don’t speak too badly of big gaps… It’s actually really great… Second and third will be 19 months apart which will also be great…

You can go down to the local bar and pick the cutest guy and save yourself some money.

Lots of dudes out there that would be willing to give you some free sperm.

One night stand…:woman_shrugging:

Pick up your phone and call around…

I’ll give you my former boyfriend’s phone number. Problem solved.
