Questions about c-sections

What do you wear after you have a c section, and how long does it take to heal? I’m two weeks pp, and everything hurts to wear near it. Thanks!

Anything comfy. They sell seamless underwear at walmart. Dresses?

I honestly stuck a maxi-pad into the front of basically ALL of my pants for a bit, just to keep things from rubbing. Also low-rise undies. It took a few weeks, if I remember correctly, for the pain to get more bearable. Good luck! You will get there!

It took a good 2-3 months to heal completely. At that point the incision site (which was a horizontal cut) was numb and has been ever since. I feel no sensation there at all.

Loose clothing, underwear couple of sizes too big , nothing with firm or restrictive waist bands .

I kept wearing my maternity pants lol

For me high waisted tighter leggings. It worked because it kinda held everything in and it helped walking for me. If you can get a postpartum waist band thing. They sell them at Walmart in the baby section.

Wear your maternity leggings. With huge cotton pants that go up to your belly button. Make sure theres no seam along the scar  c

I bought surgical pads and put them over it so my clothes wouldn’t rub the incision. Between those and my belly band, my clothes didn’t rub it. I have complications so I do not know the normal timeline for healing.

I am three years past and still can’t lay on my stomach.

I wore dresses for WEEKS! Everything else hurt too bad. At two months out I was back in leggings. Three months out I wore high waisted jeans so it didn’t touch incision.

I wore sweatpants for like the first few weeks

A waist band and maternity pants

Loose fitting clothes. I wore sweat pants, baggie shirts and dresses ( not formal) like sundresses not skin tight ones. It too mine 6-8 weeks to heal.

Did they give you the wraps? I was back in the gym walking on the treadmill at two weeks. Walking helps to heal effectively Nd prevents blood clots. Good luck!

Pyjama pants and loose sweatpants for about another month or so. Even a year later still couldn’t wear some of the clothes I bought before getting pregnant because of healing (I ended up with a fluid filled sack called a seroma along my incision).
Honestly, anything stretchy waist or high waisted is best.

Elastic banded pants, leggings, dresses, tummy control panties. I also put a maxi pad on my pants to help.
As for pain. I took Tylenol & my narcotics in the morning depending on my schedule. I also took hot baths at night & used a heating pad.

I’ve had 3 c sections within 4 years, I wore the underwear the hospital gave with a pad over my incision… I also wore really stretchy leggings so they weren’t tight on my belly. Do as much walking and moving around, you’ll heal faster the more you use your belly muscles.
