Should we skip preschool due to COVID?

I have a 4 year old that I was supposed to sign up for preschool this year. With all this Covid happening is it a better idea to wait and skip preschool ? I have a 1 year old at home and I’m supposed to give birth on November as well.

I think it depends where you live… where I live my kids are back in daycare and summer camps, but we have 0 cases in our area and the max we had was 6 since March… location matters

You do what you think is right. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad for whichever route you plan to do. Learning, whether it’s remove, in-person or mixture of both wont be easy.

Depends on your location, circumstances etc. Do whatever works for you and your family

My city is hella small no city buses . But I’m sending my daughter to school for kindergarten in aug

I think pre school is important for the little one to gain some independence

Absolutely a great idea. They can wait a year or two. In my state a child doesn’t have to start school til age 7.

What’s more important learning ABC 123 or not catching covid?

If your child doesn’t go to preschool then they’ll have to be enrolled in prekindergarten at age 5 more than likely. But your concern is understandable but truly depends on the cases where you live. Where I live we have abt 170 if that many but I know we over 150 but that’s with 12,000-13,000 ppl so

I would. My son didn’t go to preK

I have a 4 year old who’s been in daycare/preschool the whole time. I’m due in September and my 4 year old will continue to go during my maternity leave. I believe kids need exposure to germs, also in the competitive world we live in the sooner we can teach them and get them into a school setting the better.

I personally would. Preschool isn’t a requirement

My daughter is 3 and I’m due August 5th. We have decided to withhold her from preschool this year. We live in a small town with no cases of covid. We are having her do headstart this year and will do preschool next year. They are talking about possibly having the kids wear masks so that also affected our decision. I feel like 4 hours is going to be hard enough let alone having her wear one all day

We decided to do homeschooling for preschool.

It’s not required in my state so i decided to hold off a year also due to the circumstances.

Preschool is mostly for social interaction and to learn how to be in a routine classroom setting. Kindergarten is not even required in most states…
So I would say its not a problem especially if your child already knows, colors, shapes etc…

Yes, the cases have gone up a ridiculous amount and babies (under 3 if i remember correctly) can’t wear masks.

I have a 4 year old going to preschool this year. He needs to socialize. Everyone is different and all situations are different. Do as you plz. But just remember if he doesn’t go u need to be able to help him learn the things he would learn in school . From abcs to numbers. I’m not being rude just letting you know we as parents have to stop and help. Out the teachers when there is no school so they are prepared for next year. Good luck with everything
