Which is better tubal ligation or vasectomy?

My husband and i are playing pass the buck. We know we don’t want more kids and he is trying to convince me to get my tubes tied while i think he should get the vasectomy. Is one more effective that the other or is one more risky a procedure?

Tubal is invasive. Vasectomy is a simply snip snip

Both are about the same when it comes to still being able to slip up and have another child. Getting your tubes tied and burned is more effective in my opinion though.

As depends on you, tubal is more invasive, longer recovery time. Vasectomy is simple. Consider this, if you’ve had a c section or more than one, he should get the snip.

Vasectomy is a 10 minute office procedure. 3 day tops recovery. So much easier for him than you!!

They can do a test to see if a vasectomy worked. There is no test to see if a tubal actually worked. A vasectomy is a simple office visit as a tubal is an actual procedure that you have to be put under for.

I think since you CARRIED your child for 9 Months & Gave Birth that HE should step up to the plate & get a vasectomy.
You’ve already gone thru enough

How about you both get it done on each of your ends?

Neither is 100% unless you get your tubes removed rather than just tied or burned.

My best friend has 3 younger siblings that came after a vasectomy reversal. So I got my tubes tied. No faith in it after I’ve seen it can be reversed :joy::woman_shrugging:t2:

Vesectomy is a quick snip snip and more simple, it can also fail. Tubal is more invasive, and you can either get them cut and burned, or cut out and removed. I’m getting mine cut and removed next month, he said that had a 100% success rate to where getting them cut and burned was like a 98% or something.

Vasectomy is more effective with less chance of side effects and failure.

Vasectomy. In office procedure. Not a major surgery

You’ve done enough of the work, make him get the vasectomy. Lol.

Both the same but easier for a man to have done

Vasectomy will make his semen thinner and taste better lol tubal does nothing cool like that, it’s just invasive and painful. Highly recommend vasectomy

The snip can ve undone. Where as if you get your womb taken out, then there’s no going back if one or both change your mind’s at a later date.

Vasectomy is way easier and cheaper. Also not done under general anesthesia which has other risks

My husband is getting a vasectomy. Less invasive and no long term issues. I’ve seen so many women have issues after getting their tubes tied, etc. My husband is happy to get fixed once we have our little one

Vasectomy is less invasive, easier recovery, and can be redone if wanted in the future. Its generally very easy process, but my hsband had a rough one and had some issues from it. Super super rare though
