On August 20, Danity Kane singer and reality star Aubrey O’Day posted a photo of herself in a black cut out bathing suit in order to promote a workout app on Instagram. The app is called FlatTummy and it gives its customers access to workouts, recipes, meal plans, and more.
This is what that particular post looked like:
Roughly a week after O’Day shared the post, the Daily Mail wrote an article claiming that recent paparazzi photos of O’Day had surfaced. The photos are of a woman in a crop top and biker shorts who was walking a dog with multi-colored fur.
“Aubrey O’Day was pictured looking remarkably different from how she appears on social media, as she took her two dogs for a quiet stroll in Palm Springs, California,” the Daily Mail reported. “The sighting comes just a week after the 36-year-old star posted an advertisement for the Flat Tummy App on her Instagram account that showed her in a revealing swimsuit, though it appears to have been heavily airbrushed.”
The Daily Mail went on to say that they identified the photos to be of O’Day after matching up the tattoo she has on her ribs and the barcode tattoo that is on the back of her neck. And people were quick to criticize the singer for constantly editing the photos she posts to social media and her constant promotion of diet supplements, among other products.
Shortly after the photos were shared by the Daily Mail, O’Day took to Twitter to respond.
In her tweet, O’Day shared two images—one of herself in a black one-piece while holding a piece of paper that read “It is August 31, 2020 9 p.m. I’m Aubrey O’Day. This is degrading!” The other photo was a close up of the note.
O’Day then wrote, “It’s so sick what [people] will do for clickbait! And that my lawyer needed this photo to defend me against it. When is this industry going to stop abusing women’s bodies! Sorry my place is a mess, currently remodeling my glam room- I’m sure it’ll be written that I’m a hoarder next!”
After seeing the pictures, people began to admit that they don’t know what to think or who to believe. O’Day later retweeted a tweet that defended her against photoshop claims.

The singer also responded to another tweet in her defense. “Makes me sick. I was jamming to Brandy & Monica Verzuz. Started my glam room and BOOM my whole night is ruined! Then my attorney has me taking photos with date and time to prove them false. Like, I’m tired of this stupid shallow abusive industry.”
The truth still remains unclear as the Daily Mail has not removed the article, nor have they responded to O’Day’s claims that the photographs are either altered or not her at all.
