Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are taking their relationship to the next level for a second time. After rekindling their flame two years ago, JLo and Affleck are engaged again!
In a recent interview with People, prior to Affleck popping the question, Lopez addressed her and Affleck’s decision to give their romantic relationship a second try nearly 20 years after they broke off their first engagement.
“We’re older now, we’re smarter, we have more experience, we’re at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things,” Lopez said of their relationship now.
As Lopez continued she say she believes their rekindling is a beautiful outcome that came at the perfect time. “It’s a beautiful outcome that this has happened in this way at this time in our lives where we can really appreciate and celebrate each other and respect each other.”

While they have always respected each other, Lopez admits it is different now because of the life they have lived. “We have even more of an appreciation because we know that life can take you in different directions.”
“We have been in the game in the public eye long enough to know who we are as people and what really matters and what doesn’t matter. We have kids and we respect each other. … We really live our lives in a way we can be proud of and our kids can be proud of you. We’re just operating from a place of love and respect for everyone in our lives and that is very important to us. We know what the truth is [and] we hold it sacred.”
Lopez announced the big news with a short 10-second video on her official website. The video showed Lopez emotional over the engagement, as well as a gorgeous green emerald engagement ring.
Lopez told People that a lot of special things have happened to her while wearing green. Her ring is seemingly a nod to that.
Since getting back together, Jennifer and Ben have been rather public, only appearing on the red carpet a few times. Congratulations to the happy couple!
