What You Probably Didn’t Know About Betty White’s Career

Betty White, for a lot of people, is and always will be an icon. From her ability to dance and sing on her self-named show to her ability to make us laugh without really trying at all, Betty White was a triple threat!

Now, in a video from her The Golden Girls days that is going viral again, fans are getting a glimpse into just how effortlessly funny she really was. The video is of Betty White and two of her The Golden Girls co-stars during one of the most iconic moments from their super successful show.

What You Probably Didn’t Know About Betty White’s Career

For all you The Golden Girls fans you may remember the scene forever known as The Great Herring War. But what you may not have known is that it is believed this scene was completely improvised by Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Bea Arthur.

According to reports, as Betty White continued on her unbelievable story about the Great Herring War, not even Rue and Bea could keep a straight face and broke character.

The clip shows White going on a tangent about the Great Herring War and Rue and Bea losing it. However, in between their laughs, Rue and Bea managed to keep engaging White as she went on.

On the last day of 2021, the world was collectively shocked after it was reported that just days before her 100 birthday, Betty White had passed away. White had passed away in her sleep several days after suffering a mild stroke.

“Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever,” her agent and friend Jeff Witjas said in a statement. “I will miss her terribly and so will the animal world that she loved so much. I don’t think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband Allen Ludden. She believed she would be with him again.”

White did not have any biological children but was a stepmother to Ludden’s children from a different relationship.
