Billie Lourd and Austen Rydell Share First Photos of New Daughter – Jackson Joanne

Billie Lourd and her husband, Austen Rydell, are sharing their first photo of their new daughter Jackson Joanne, who was brought into this world on December 12th. Although her followers didn’t get to see the adorable face of the newborn baby, they were blessed with a photo of the baby’s adorable little hands.

The couple confirmed the pregnancy back in September with Billie debuting her baby bump at the premiere of Ticket to Paradise in London – Lourd portrays Wren Butler in the film, which also stars Julia Roberts, George Clooney, and Kaitlyn Dever. The film was finally released on October 21st in the US.

With the welcoming of their first daughter, Lourd and Rydell are officially parents of two – the couple welcomed a son named Kingston Fisher in September 2020, just three months after the couple became engaged. They finally decided to tie the knot in March of this year, nine months before giving birth again.

Billie Lourd and Austen Rydell are doing an incredible job of honoring their famous family members with the naming of their children. For example, their son’s middle name, Fisher, is an ode to Billie’s mother, Carrie Fisher – yes, Princess Leia from the Star Wars saga. Carrie passed away on December 27, 2016.

Their daughter’s middle name is Joanne, which honors Austen’s late grandmother, Joanne Linville – who passed away last year. She was best known for her role in the original Star Trek series. Rydell’s father – Christopher Rydell – was also an actor, while his grandfather – Mark Rydell – was a director.

At the US premiere of Ticket to Paradise, Billie Lourd talked about how different her second pregnancy was, compared to her first – which occurred at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. “I went nowhere,” the actress said of her first pregnancy with her son, Kingston – adding that she ‘didn’t leave my couch.’

Things were much different the second time around. Not only was she working on the set of American Horror Story and on a new film titled And Mrs, but she was busy raising a toddler in Kingston. Her busy day-to-day routine had her feeling like ‘a psycho person’ – something any parent of two can relate to.

Bryan Lourd is All Smiles for His Daughter, Billie Lourd

Believe it or not, Billie Lourd wasn’t the one to reveal the news of her giving birth – and no, it wasn’t Austen Rydell, either. Instead, it was Lourd’s father, Bryan Lourd, who is a talent agent that has been working as a partner, managing director, and co-chairman at Creative Artists Agency (CAA) since 1995.

Bryan Lourd was a keynote speaker at Variety’s Dealmakers Breakfast – an annual event that was held on Tuesday, December 13th. While he wasn’t there to promote his newest granddaughter, he couldn’t help but take a moment to share the exciting news with those in attendance – he’s a proud grandfather.

The event happened less than 24 hours after Billie Lourd gave birth to Jackson Joanne. “My daughter had a baby last night. I left the hospital at 1:30 and got there this morning at 6. I’m a little tired, but happy,” the talent agent said. He jokingly warned that the ‘adrenaline is still flowing’ and it might affect his speech.

As for his daughter, she couldn’t be happier at this moment and is looking forward to raising a second child with the love of her life. If you’ve already seen Ticket to Paradise, don’t worry – the actress has much more planned for 2023. For example, her new film And Mrs will be released sometime next year.
