Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds‘ family is about to get bigger! When the couple hit the red carpet for the premiere of Reynolds’ new movie, Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, they revealed that they are expecting a third child.
Clad in a Pikachu-yellow Retrofete dress, Lively turned heads at the premiere in New York City on Thursday, May 2. And not just because of the dress: the baby bump underneath the dress drew predictably drew an incredible amount of attention.
That’s right: Lively is pregnant with her third child! What a way to announce it to the world!
And though it is not Lively and Reynolds’ first time at the pregnancy rodeo, there is still much excitement in the air over this revelation. For one thing, Lively has become somewhat of a pregnancy fashion icon, and for good reason. One needs to look no further than her immaculate Detective Pikachu look.

Some of the better details of Lively’s radiant pregnancy look aren’t even noticeable in the photos above. Take her Pokémon manicure, for instance:
Leave it to Lively to think through every detail of her look, even though she knew most people would probably only focus on the whole “OMG she’s pregnant!!!” thing.
And, just for fun, a reminder that Lively’s pregnancy style is and has always been on point:
Lively and Reynolds’ Growing Family
But it’s more than just Lively’s pregnancy style. Lively and Reynolds have long been held up as examples of celebrity parents doing it right.
Lively and Reynolds, who have been married since 2012, are already parents to two daughters, four-year-old James and two-year-old Inez. Both parents have gone on record to discuss their admirable parenting priorities. And who could forget the adorable moment they brought James and Inez to Reynolds’ Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony? (But the people need to know: will Lively throw a CBD-themed baby shower?)
Other than the big reveal, the power couple did not reveal many details about their baby-to-be while on the carpet. They did not share a due date or whether if they know if it’s a boy or girl. But given historical data, we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s another little girl.
In 2016, Reynolds told People that he is not at all bothered by having only daughters. “Having a daughter was a dream come true for me,” he said. “If I could have nine daughters, I would be thrilled. Really, like I genuinely would be.”
It’s because of remarks like that that we’ll always have a special place in our hearts for Lively, Reynolds, and their entire beautiful family. Well, that and things like this:
