Bob Saget’s official cause of death has been revealed. Exactly one month after the actor and comedian’s unexpectedly passed away, a statement released by his family on February 9th reveals how Saget passed away.
Bob Saget’s Family Reveals His Tragic Official Cause of Death
Tragically, according to the statement, Saget died as a result of head trauma. “The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma,” the Saget family said in a statement given to People.
“They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it, and went to sleep.”
The statement continued by reiterating that “no drugs or alcohol were involved.” As Mamas Uncut previously reported, a preliminary autopsy just days after Saget died confirmed that neither drugs nor alcohol contributed to his death.
“Now that we have the final conclusions from the authorities’ investigation, we felt it only proper that the fans hear those conclusions directly from us,” his family wrote. “As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter.”
Bob Saget was just 65 years old. Just hours after performing a comedy show in Florida, Saget was discovered in his Ritz-Carlton hotel room. He was on tour at the time of his death.
In a statement provided by Joshua Stephany, he revealed “at this time, there is no evidence of drug use or foul play.” What Saget may have hit his head on has not been made public.
Saget leaves behind a wife, Kelly Rizzo, and three adult daughters. Rizzo used Instagram to honor their three-year wedding anniversary this past October.
Saget’s Full House co-stars shared a joint statement shortly after his death was made public.
“Thirty-five years ago, we came together as a TV family, but we became a real family. And now we grieve as a family. Bob made us laugh until we cried. Now our tears flow in sadness, but also with gratitude for all the beautiful memories of our sweet, kind, hilarious, cherished Bob. He was a brother to us guys, a father to us girls, and a friend to all of us. Bob, we love you dearly. We ask in Bob’s honor, hug the people you love. No one gave better hugs than Bob,” the statement was signed, “John, Dave, Candace, Jodie, Lori, Andrea, Scott, Jeff, Ashley, and Mary-Kate.”
A tragic loss for so many people.
