Former Olympic athlete Bode Miller and volleyball player Morgan Beck announced that they’re having a baby girl in a Today exclusive.
The family hosted a gender reveal party over the weekend.
The couple was excitedly surprised to be showered in pink confetti, as they say, they had no clue. Bode explained how “everyone has been so supportive that it was really such a cool reward to share it all together, especially after this last year with COVID and everything. It was pretty amazing.”
Morgan Beck and Bode Miller also revealed the creative way they told their other kids about the pregnancy, with Morgan telling Today that:
“We told them on St. Patrick’s Day. I planned an elaborate scavenger hunt, and at the end of each clue was their pot of gold, and their pot of gold had a little treat plus a word, and they all had to pull their words out and mix them together to figure out the sentence, and the sentence said, ‘Another baby Miller, coming November 2021.’ They were first completely shocked.”
Since then, the kids have been very involved with their future baby sister. Bode revealed that it “was really fun to see how excited they were [at the gender reveal party].”
Bode Miller and Morgan Beck lost their 19-month-old daughter, Emmy, in 2018 due to an accidental drowning in a neighbor’s pool.

Morgan explained how “it is so special” to welcome another baby girl to their family.
She continues, “I feel like I haven’t fully got my head wrapped around it because every time I start thinking about it, I just start crying. To get to experience a relationship with a little girl again… is going to be unbelievable.”
Bode and Morgan have been looking forward to a baby girl since they found out they were pregnant.
When the couple announced the pregnancy, Bode shared with People that, “All of our kids are so unique, and it’s always a surprise. I think after losing Emmy, we both felt we wanted to try for a girl.”
Morgan added, “We both just knew that we had more space in our hearts to give more love.”
