It’s been a year of difficult ups and downs for Olympic skier Bode Miller and his wife, Morgan Beck.
In June, the couple lost their 19-month-old daughter in a tragic drowning accident. They then welcomed a baby boy just four months later, Dearly reported.

Though their son could never replace Emeline Grier, Miller told “Today” that he has helped them heal:
“If there’s one thing that can kind of help to heal and fill that spot in your heart, it’s a baby. And he’s a special one. Besides the lack of sleep, it’s been a really nice process to be able to go through.”
Now, the family is honoring their late daughter by including her in their Christmas photo.
On December 25, Beck shared several photos from the family’s Christmas photoshoot. In one, the parents stand with their four children beside a photo of their late daughter.
The mom wrote on Instagram:
Merry Christmas to our baby girl in heaven. We miss you so much!
Beck wrote that she’s still hopeful for the new year, despite the difficulties she and her family are facing after the loss of Emeline Grier:
2018 has been a year full of overwhelming sadness and overwhelming joy. We have spent half of the year mourning and attempting to heal the loss of our angel which feels like an impossible battle all while celebrating the birth of our son. Seeking normalcy for our children has been our driving force forward. Normally I would be looking forward to a “fresh beginning” in 2019 but there is no more starting fresh after the loss of a child. So here’s to a healthy 2019 full of personal growth and creating many memories with my babies, full of smiles and laughs. Wishing everyone a special holiday season surrounded by loved ones.
Though the parents struggled in 2018, it seems they’re doing all they can to move forward with their children.
Since this news, Bode and Morgan have welcomed healthy twin boys.
