Three-Year-Old Gives Himself a Pep Talk on the Way to School. Internet Basically Melts.

“I am smart. I am blessed. I can do anything.” One little boy became an Internet sensation after a video of him reciting affirmations to on the way to school went viral.

Kids can say the darndest things, but they also have an uncanny ability to know just what to do when the going gets tough. Take little Ayaan Diop for example. He’s just 3 years old, and he may not be more than three-feet tall, but now most of the country knows his name after his mom caught him on camera reciting a reassuring mantra as they walked to school.

“I am smart. I am blessed. I can do anything.” We’re sorry, but could he be any cuter?!

On October 1, Ayaan’s mom, Alissa, shared the video to her Instagram account. She wrote, “I taught Ayaan this positive affirmation on his 2nd birthday last year in the hopes that he would one day memorize it, understand it and use it as a motivational tool whenever he needed it.”

She continued, “Well, he shocked me this morning. Out of nowhere, he started repeating it, so I pulled out my phone. He ended (with enthusiasm) once we made it to our destination. So proud of the little boy he is growing into.”

Shortly after making the post public, legendary talk show host Ellen Degeneres reposted the video and invite Ayaan and his family to come to her show. And believe it or not, Ayaan was just as adorable on the show as he is in his now-viral video that has over six million views.

His mom told Ellen, “I just wanted him to have something positive to say for himself.” She said she wanted to take a video so that his dad could witness it. She had no idea that it would eventually go viral.

While on the show, Ayaan’s parents also revealed that he would be a big brother soon, but kept the gender of their unborn child a secret. However, Ayaan said he’s hoping for a baby sister.

So as a gift to help the growing family plan for a second child, and their wedding, Ellen gave Ayaan a bunch of Toy Story themed toys and a check for $20,000 for being smart, blessed, and knowing that he can do anything.

Alissa took to Instagram after the show to thank Ellen for her generosity. “Thank you to [Ellen] for having our family on as guests this week. What you have done and continue to do to spread the message of love & positivity, to help so many people and at the end of the day, to be the change that we need to see in this world, is something that I will always love, cherish and appreciate about you. Thank you for blessing my family in such a huge and thoughtful way. We are so extremely grateful!”
