Sam Asghari, Britney Spears’ boyfriend has seen the public interest in her case and hopes it will lead to a more normal future for the singer. He recently released a statement to People thanking fans for their support and well-wished. He also had some choice words for Jamie Spears.
Sam Asghari, Britney Spears’ boyfriend, released a statement that outlines his hopes for a brighter future for pop icon.
“I have always wanted nothing but the best for my better half, and will continue to support her following her dreams and creating the future she wants and deserves,” Asghari, 27, wrote. “I am thankful for all of the love and support she is receiving from her fans all over the world, and I am looking forward to a normal, amazing future together.”
The distressing documentary uncovered details surrounding a conservatorship Britney, 39, has been beholden to since 2008. Her father, Jamie Spears, currently controls the superstar’s finances and personal decisions. Despite a robust #FreeBritney movement behind her, a judge ruled in her father’s favor in November 2020 dealing a blow to Britney who had requested her father removed from it.
A number of celebrities have joined a growing chorus of Britney-supporters in recent days with social media posts from the likes of Miley Cyrus, Kacey Musgraves, and Hayley Williams.
Following his statement to People, he created a social media post on Instagram criticizing Jamie in sharper terms saying that he tries to “control” their relationship.
“Now it’s important for people to understand that I have zero respect for someone trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles our way,” Asghari revealed. “In my opinion, Jamie is a total d–k.”
The personal trainer and entertainer is not one to usually disclose any details about his relationship with Britney so his Instagram post came as a shock to many fans. He informed readers that he would not be “going into details” about why he spoke out because he “always respected our privacy.”

The Iranian-born entertainer concluded his statement writing, “But at the same time I did not come to this country to not be able to express my opinion and freedom.”
Following his social media post, Asghari told TMZ on Tuesday that he “hopes” he can be on better terms with Jamie, 68, someday “once he starts treating his daughter right.”
Britney and Asghari have been dating since 2016 since they met on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video. The “Gimme More” singer posts photos of the pair together on social media occasionally giving fans a glimpse into their very private life and relationship.
Outside of Asghari’s recent remarks, he had previously told E! News. “We work out a lot together. We run, we do a lot of yoga, we really challenge ourselves to do different types of exercises”
“A lot of the yoga moves that she does I just can’t do. She is a natural-born athlete and she pushes herself, combining dancing along with various workouts.”
We are excited to hear that Asghari is fully in Britney’s corner, even though we expected as much, it is always great to hear from one of the people at the center of this unfolding drama.
