Not long after Kevin Federline claimed that it was his sons’ decision not to see their mom, pop star Britney Spears, the singer is speaking out and so is her new husband Sam Asghari.
On August 6, Federline who was married to Spears briefly from 2004 to 2007, during their relationship, the former couple welcomed two sons into the world. Now that they are teenagers, the boys have been living with their father for most of their lives.
Britney Spears and Her Husband Slam Her Ex Kevin Federline After Interview About Their Children
For a while, it seemed like Federline and Spears had been co-parenting well. Now, that no longer seems to be the case.
In a new interview with Daily Mail, Federline spoke out against Spears and her newly found freedom since her conservatorship came to an end. “The boys have decided they are not seeing her right now,” Kevin said of her sons. “It’s been a few months since they’ve seen her. They made the decision not to go to her wedding.”
He went on to tell the Daily Mail that he believes the conservatorship she was under “saved” her life. “This whole thing has been hard to watch, harder to live through, harder to watch my boys go through than anything else,” he said of Britney detailing her life post conservatorship.
“It’s been tough. It’s the most challenging thing I’ve ever had to do in my life,” Federline continued.
“I try to explain to them, ‘Look, maybe that’s just another way she tries to express herself.’ But that doesn’t take away from the fact of what it does to them. It’s tough. I can’t imagine how it feels to be a teenager having to go to high school.”
The father added that he hopes his interview will help open Britney’s eyes to how her lifestyle affects her kids. “If there was a way – any way – I could possibly say something to just open [Britney’s] eyes – but I haven’t found that yet. I feel like, if I found that, I’d be on the phone trying to tell her.”
Now, both Britney and Sam are speaking out against Federline’s interview.
“To clarify my wife has never posted a nude selfie except of her butt which is quite modest these days. All other posts were implied nudity which can be seen in any ad for lotion or soap. There is no validity to his statement regarding the kids distancing themselves and it is irresponsible to make that statement publicly,” Sam wrote in defense of his wife.
“The boys are very smart and will be 18 soon to make their own decisions and may eventually realize the ‘tough’ part was having a father who hasn’t worked much in over 15 years as a role model. Kevin’s gravy train will end soon which probably explains the timing of these hurtful statements.”
Sam continued writing, “I do not know him personally and have nothing against him aside him choosing to vilify my wife. His character is revealed by approval of the cruel 13-year [conservatorship] and his loyalty to Jaimie indicates his approval at time of its conception as well.”
“Things that are now considered Normal issues and behavior easily dealt with therapy or other ways were magnified to justify a 13 year prison sentence. Anyone approving of it is wrong or benefiting from it somehow. I will not comment on this matter again except to say I have a job.”
Sam then quoted Will Smith, adding, “I wish him the best and hope he has a more positive outlook in the future for benefit of all involved. But for now, Keep my wife’s name…out your mouth.”
Britney also shared her own statement as well. “It saddens me to hear that my ex-husband has decided to discuss the relationship between me and my children. As we all know, raising teenage boys is never easy for anyone. It concerns me the fact that the reason is based on my Instagram … it was LONG before Instagram … I gave them everything. Only one word: HURTFUL… l’Il say it … My mother told me, ‘You should GIVE them to their dad.’ I’m sharing this because I can. Have a good day folks!!!”
