Brittany Mahomes, co-owner of the Kansas City Current and wife of two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Patrick Mahomes, is giving fans some insight into her family. The 27-year-old took to her Instagram Story on April 16 for a brief and personal Q&A with her fans and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
Asked for a labor or delivery story, Mahomes explained the story behind each of her two births. Her 2-year-old daughter, Sterling, was born on February 20, 2021. She was induced at 39 weeks, 4 days with her doctor breaking her water and starting her on Pitocin by 9 a.m. She got the epidural around 3 p.m.
By 7 p.m., Brittany was ready to start pushing and had to do so for about 20 minutes before her daughter was born. She celebrated her second birthday just two months ago with a donut-themed birthday cake and also accompanied Brittany and Patrick at the Indian Wells Masters tennis tournament in March.
Her second child, a son named Patrick Mahomes III (they call him Bronze), was born on November 28, 2022. Brittany was induced at 39 weeks, 3 days with her water breaking in the morning. The doctor fully broke her water at noon and she was dilated to a 4 when she started Pitocin. She got her epidural at 1:30.
By 5 p.m., Brittany was ready to start pushing and only did so for about 7 minutes before her son was born. She admitted that his birth was quicker, but added that there were some complications that came with it. “His cord was wrapped around his neck two times and thankfully didn’t affect anything. He was fine.”
He’s about to be five months old in a few weeks and has already made several numerous cameos on social media – including at his big sister’s second birthday and in a photoshoot from February 22. “Thanking God every day for these 3,” she wrote in the caption alongside several photos of the family.
Brittany Mahomes Reveals Her Son Wasn’t Planned
Brittany Mahomes was also asked if Bronze was planned or not. She replied, “Nope lol,” before admitting that it happened on their wedding night. Patrick proposed to Brittany on September 1, 2020, and they tied the knot on March 12, 2022 – they celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary just one week ago.
“Happy 1st Anniversary! One of the best weeks of my life, marrying your best friend it’s one of the greatest things you could do! Nothing beats doing life with you and these beautiful kiddos of ours! Year 1 was wild but we got many more to go. You & Me forever,” she wrote in an Instagram caption.

She was then asked how she told her husband she was pregnant and whether she has any cute stories to go along with it. “Nothing cute lol both were just ‘oh s**t’ moments,” she said – adding a crying laughing face emoji.
