The trailer shows Prince Harry and Meghan Markle like the public has never seen them before. From breakdowns to never-before-seen photos, this docu-series has people on the edge of their seats. And it all comes to light after the royal family is in crisis mode.
A Buckingham Palace household member has resigned from their position after being accused of racist behavior at a recent palace event, which was hosted by Queen Camilla. The Royal Family immediately denounced the honorary member’s behavior, including a statement from William, Prince of Wales.
The accusation was made by Ngozi Fulani, a Black British national and founder of Sistah Space – a local charity that helps ‘bridge the gap in domestic abuse services for African heritage women and girls.’ She was attending the event at Buckingham Palace when one of the household members approached her.
“Where are you from?” the honorary member asked. Thinking she was asking what organization she was from, Fulani said she was with Sistah Space. “No, where do you come from?” the member continued. Still confused about the question, Fulani said her charity was based in Hackney, a borough in Inner London.
Finally, the palace member asked, “No, what part of Africa are you from?” The two went back and forth as Fulani attempted to explain that she was a British national – born and raised in the country. Nonetheless, the honorary member continued to ask the same question over and over again – much to Fulani’s dismay.
At one point, the member asked where “your people” come from, which prompted Fulani to ask, “My people? Lady, what is this?” After a few more back and forths, Fulani again stated she was a British national and started to explain that her parents came here in the 1950s, but was quickly interrupted.
“Oh, I knew we’d get there in the end, you’re Caribbean!” said the Buckingham Palace household member. Still in disbelief, Fulani once more explained that she was ‘of African heritage, Caribbean descent, and British nationality.’ The conversation only lasted a few moments but felt like a lifetime.
Fulani shared a transcript of the conversation on her Twitter account. “Mixed feelings about yesterday’s visit to Buckingham Palace. 10 mins after arriving, a member of staff, Lady SH, approached me, moved my hair to see my name badge,” she said on Twitter, adding that the rest of the event was a blur to her.
Buckingham Palace Releases Statement Following the Member’s Resignation
In a statement to NBC News, Buckingham Palace said the racist comments were ‘unacceptable and deeply regrettable,’ adding that they’ve invited Ngozi Fulani to the Palace to ‘discuss all elements of her experience in person if she wishes.’ They’ve also vowed to ensure this experience doesn’t happen again.
In a separate statement released by a spokesperson, Prince William expressed his deepest regret for the event that unfolded. While he wasn’t in attendance, he ‘was really disappointed to hear about the guest’s experience at Buckingham Palace,’ adding that he believes ‘racism has no place in our society.’
After posting her accusations on Twitter, Fulani followed up with a second tweet adding she wishes not to name the household member in question. “Yes the person was offensive, but it serves no purpose to name & shame her, it would make us just as bad. We prefer that this be handled kindly,” she tweeted.

This isn’t the first time Buckingham Palace has faced accusations of racism. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle accused several unnamed members of racist behavior in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. One can only hope they use this incident as a wake-up call to avoid future issues.
