Caitlyn Jenner Wishes Khloe Kardashian a Happy Birthday With a Heartfelt Message on Instagram

On June 27, Khloé Kardashian was bombarded with birthday wishes as she celebrated her 39th birthday. Of all the messages she received, one of the more notable ones was from Caitlyn Jenner – who raised her since she was 5 years old. The two haven’t been on the best of terms since 2015.

“Being your stepfather was, and is, one of the best things that I was ever blessed with by your mother. I promised your father that I would do my best to always be there for you kids and I know I haven’t been perfect but I will always love you and you are forever in my heart,” Caitlyn wrote in an Instagram post.

“I hope your day is filled with love, your kids, and happiness,” she concluded in the caption – posting the message on both her Instagram page and Instagram Story. And while they haven’t been on the best of terms, Khloé seemed to appreciate the gesture. “I love you!!!!!!” she wrote in response on her own Story.

Caitlyn Jenner, who was born Bruce Jenner before coming out as transgender and undergoing gender reassignment surgery, married Khloé Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, in 1991 after divorcing Robert Kardashian. Caitlyn and Kris separated in 2013, filed for divorce in 2014, and it was finalized in 2015.

In 2019, Caitlyn spoke about her damaged relationship with Khloé in an episode of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!. At the time, she said she hadn’t spoken to Khloé in 5-6 years and didn’t know why. “I raised Khloe since she was 5 years old. I don’t know what her issues are. I really don’t know,” she said.

While Caitlyn suggested it might have something to do with her transition into a woman, Khloé previously confirmed (in 2015) that their fallout had nothing to do with Caitlyn’s transformation. Instead, she claims it had everything to do with some of the things Caitlyn was saying about the family – more specifically, Kris.

“I am all for Caitlyn screaming from the rooftops about her transition. I think it’s beautiful and I think [she] should take pride in everything she’s doing and the strength that it takes to do what she’s doing on such a public platform. With that being said, [she] does not need to tear anybody else down to build herself up.”

Caitlyn Jenner Wasn’t the Only One to Wish Khloé a Happy Birthday

Caitlyn Jenner wishing Khloé a happy birthday came as a surprise to some, but it was just one of the many touching tributes she received from family members on June 27. Her mother, Kris Jenner, posted a vintage video montage of Khloé as a baby and child on Instagram with a sweet message in the caption.

“Khloé you are the sunshine of my life… You are the most amazing daughter, mommy, sister, auntie, best friend, neighbor, and such a huge part of my heart!!!!! You are so smart, strong, talented, beautiful inside and out, kind, sweet, thoughtful, creative, funny, and witty,” the 67-year-old matriarch began her message.

Rob Kardashian, Khloé’s brother, also took to Instagram to wish her a happy birthday – which was another surprise, considering he doesn’t post much anymore. “Wishing you nothing but good health and happiness forever my darling buttercup,” he wrote. “I don’t know what I would do without you.”
