Cameron Diaz Loves Motherhood Says It’s the ‘Best Part’ of Her Life

Cameron Diaz recently updated fans about how her first months of motherhood have been going. Diaz gave birth to her first child Raddix Chloe Wildflower Madden, three and a half months ago. She and husband, Benji Madden have been figuring things out and have found a routine that works for them and their daughter.

Diaz appeared in an Instagram live video with her friend, Katherine Power, CEO of Who What Wear and she admitted that Raddix is the “best part” of her life.

Diaz is enjoying parenting and really feels ‘lucky’ to be doing it with Benji.

“I love being a mother. It’s the best, best, best part of my life,” Diaz told her friend in the live video. “I’m so, so grateful and so happy and it’s the best thing ever and I’m so lucky to get to do it with Benji and we’re just having the best time. It’s so great. I’m just thrilled.”

When Power asked Diaz about how she’s holding up during the novel coronavirus pandemic, she said explained that she was already in a “bubble” since giving birth to Raddix in December, so the stay at home orders haven’t been too big of a deal for her.

Diaz says that her life has been ‘quiet and still’ ever since Raddix entered the picture.

“I’ve kinda been living a quarantine life anyhow because I have a three-month-old or a three-and-a-half-month old. So my life has been completely quiet and still for the last few months,” Diaz shared before conceding that she does miss seeing friends. “But I was able to have my friends over all the time. And now I just don’t see anybody.”

“But it’s nice, and I love a bubble, I love being in the womb of my home with my husband and cooking,” she said. “But at the same time, it’s crazy that you can’t go out to the world right now.”

We used to love a bubble too.

Diaz gushed over her husband and described their daily routine.

“I have to cook at night,” Diaz said, describing the breakdown of domestic labor she shares with her husband who is a member of the band Good Charlotte.

“After we do bath time with our baby and we put her to sleep, Benji puts her to bed, he’s so good. He’s such an amazing father. I’m so lucky he’s my baby’s daddy. He’s so incredible. He puts her down and I go into the kitchen and I start dinner and I pour myself a nice glass of red wine. I start my cooking, I put on my show, whatever it is,” she explained.

Diaz isn’t the only one in the partnership who’s full of love.

In February, Madden shared a drawing of flowers with the sweet note, “My Wife and Daughter fill me up with so much gratitude. Every day, I feel so lucky. Just wanted to say it out loud!!! Much Love & Best Wishes.”

We’re so happy both of these new parents have found a schedule that plays to each of their talents and that both are very much in love.

As Diaz and Madden keep themselves busy with their baby, she also shared some advice.

In the video, Diaz said the thing that helps her cope the most in troubled times like these, is to stay in the moment. She encouraged viewers of the video to not think too far ahead. She explained that she tries not to game out anything past two weeks.

“The way I’m making it through this time is by staying in the present,” Diaz said. “I stay in the here and now.”

This is sound advice. We must do our best to not worry about things out of our control. By staying present and enjoying the moments you share with your kids and family, you can reduce anxiety. We are so happy for Diaz and her family and hope they stay happy and healthy.
