The 51-year-old is currently touring her music and was in Miami at the time. The singer continued on with her performances as scheduled even in the wake of her mother’s death. Her management also released a statement to Entertainment Tonight:
“It is with deep sadness that Feeling Productions announces the death of Mrs. Thérèse Tanguay Dion. Mrs. Dion died peacefully at home last night, surrounded by her family. The family and loved ones thank you in advance for respecting their privacy during these difficult times. Details related to the funeral will be communicated later.”
Following the show that she dedicated to her mom, she took to Instagram again. This time she shared a video clip of herself on stage during the show. The clip showed her singing “Over the Rainbow” in a beautiful gown as a picture of her mother illuminated in the background.
Dion wrote, “Je t’aime maman.” Thérèse and her husband, Adhémar, who passed away in 2003, were also parents to 13 other children. Entertainment Tonight identified Dion’s siblings as Denise, Clement, Claudette, Liette, Michel, Louise, Jacques, Daniel, Ghislaine, Linda, Manon, Paul, and Pauline. Céline is the youngest.

She wrote, “There is not a day that goes by without me thinking about your beautiful smile. We miss you, thank you for watching over us my love. I love you.” They share three children together.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Céline and her family during this difficult time.
