According to authorities, the remains found on Chad Daybell‘s Idaho property belong to Daybell’s wife’s children. As Daybell and Lori Vallow sit in jail awaiting their trial and ultimately their fate, it has been confirmed that Vallow’s 7-year-old adopted son Joshua Vallow and her 17-year-old daughter Tylee Ryan are dead.
Both Daybell and Vallow are being held on $1 million bonds. Vallow has been charged with felony counts of desertion and nonsupport of dependent children, as well as resisting or obstructing officers, criminal solicitation to commit a crime, contempt of court, and willful disobedience of court process or order for failing to produce the two kids.
While Daybell has been charged with two counts of destruction, alteration, and concealment of evidence. He is also a suspect in the active investigation into his first wife’s suspicious death that occurred just weeks before Daybell and Vallow got married.
Both Vallow and Daybell have pleaded not guilty to their respective charges.
In a statement shared by the Rexburg Police Department and obtained by The New York Post, “The remains were taken to the medical examiner’s office where an autopsy and positive identification was performed. It is with heavy hearts that we now confirm that those remains have been officially identified as those of JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan. It is not the outcome we had hoped, to be able to find the children safe. Our hearts and prayers go out to the families of JJ and Tylee.”
The brother of J.J., who was last seen on September 23, 2019 after Vallow reportedly pulled him out of school revealing she was preparing to homeschool him, and Tylee, who was last seen of September 8, 2019 while on a trip to Yellowstone, has also released a statement following the police department’s press release.
According to People, Vallow’s oldest son Colby Ryan took to social media to share his thoughts on the latest information.
“I don’t even know how to start this. But to my beautiful, Amazing, sweet angels. The only peace I have is knowing you are in paradise. I’m broken over this. To not see (your) beautiful faces, hear your voices. Or know that I can’t hug you or see you kills me. I will never let anyone forget you. I have prayed that I could be with you again, and one day that will be true. I have more love for both of you than you could ever know. I miss you both. I love you both. This seems like a nightmare; it just seems unreal. I will never be able to express my love for you. I’ll never let you be forgotten. With all of my love to you both. Forever you’re in our hearts.”
Prior to their arrests, Daybell was once a gravedigger before becoming “a religious author who writes about prophecy and the end of the world.” Vallow was reportedly a loving mom before she started believing she was the reincarnation of God.
