On August 28, legendary actor Chadwick Boseman passed away at the age of 43 years old. It’s been reported that Boseman, who is known for starring in movies like Black Panther, 42, and Marshall, passed away on Jackie Robinson Day and Black Panther creator, Jack Kirby‘s birthday.

His death also revealed that while he made all of those movies, Boseman was living through a battle of his own with cancer. Six years ago, the actor was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer. As things progressed, the cancer turned into stage IV.

Chadwick Boseman Talking About 2 Kids With Cancer Goes Viral

The actor chose not to disclose his battle with cancer publicly and as a result, the news of his passing at just 43 was shocking to Hollywood and his fans. However, learning about his battle makes pictures like this:

And this:

All the more heartwarming and heartbreaking. These pictures of Boseman visiting children at St. Jude, many of whom are in their own battle against cancer, were taken in 2018, as the actor was fighting his own secret battle.

And now an emotional video of him from that same year talking about two of his fans who passed away following their own battles with terminal cancer is going viral. On Twitter Barstool’s Chicks in the Office shared the video on their platform.

Take a look:

“There are two little kids, Ian and Taylor, who recently passed from cancer. And throughout our filming, I was communicating with them, knowing that they were both terminal. And what they said to me, and their parents said, they’re just trying to hold on until this movie comes. And to a certain degree, you hear them say that, and you’re like, ‘Wow.’ That’s, like I gotta get up and go to the gym, or I gotta get up and got to work. You know, I gotta learn these lines, I gotta work on this accent. […] It’s a humbling experience because you’re like, ‘This can’t mean that much to them,’ you know. […] And I think back now to a kid and just, you know, waiting for Christmas to come, waiting for my birthday to come… I did live life waiting for those moments. […] And when I found out that they… yeah, it means a lot.”
