8-Year-Old Chance Blue Praised for His Bravery After Saving Himself and His Older Sister from a Terrifying Attempted Kidnapping

Chance Blue’s heroic efforts to save his older sister from being kidnapped made national headlines last spring.

The eight-year-old and his 10-year-old sister, Skylar Weaver, were sitting in a car when a man jumped into the front seat and began to drive away. Chance immediately opened the car to escape, but the kidnapper, identified as Dalvir Singh, 24, grabbed Skylar when she tried to jump out.

“What’s great is, both your instincts were to protect each other,” Wilkos said. “These kids are like superheroes.”

During the interview, Chance recounted the “very” scary situation.

“The guy started looking around and got… in the car. Then he started telling my brother to get out of the car,” Skylar told Wilkos. “And Chance got halfway out of the car and the guy had a hold of the back of my hoodie, and I couldn’t get out.”

Middletown Division of Police Chief Rodney Muterspaw also applauded Chance’s bravery. “This little guy is a hero. No question. He pulled his sister out of the car with no concern for his own safety,” he said in a press release that was distributed after the attempted kidnapping. “That is incredible at his age.”

Singh is currently in jail on a $250,000 bond.
