Chase Chrisley and Emmy Medders End Their 9-Month Engagement: “We Both Agreed to Part Ways”

Chase Chrisley is confirming what many fans and followers have speculated over the past few days – he and Emmy Medders are ending their engagement. The former couple were engaged for nine months, but things have apparently grown sour between the two and they appear ready to move on from one another.

Rumors of a potential split began earlier this week when the couple removed one another from their social media accounts – that includes all pictures of each other on their respective Instagram pages, even their engagement posts. To make matters worse, Emmy was seen without a ring on her finger in recent photos.

Further hinting at a possible split, Emmy and Chase unfollowed each other on Instagram – and even Chase’s siblings unfollowed Emmy. The recent activity spurred a lot of reactions and questions from fans and the media, but it wasn’t until Tuesday afternoon that Chase confirmed what most of us speculated.

“Everybody has been asking a lot of questions regarding Emmy and myself. We both and [sic] agreed to part ways and move on with our lives separately. Thank you for respecting our privacy,” Chase Chrisley wrote on his Instagram Story. He didn’t provide any context, reasoning, or further explanation for the split.

The separation comes just nine months after the couple announced their engagement in October 2022 – which took place at First Horizon Park (home of the Nashville Sounds of the AAA). At the time, Chase described himself as the ‘luckiest man alive’ and praised his fiance for being the ‘sunshine when it’s dark.’

“There’s no doubt I want to spend the rest of my life with Emmy. We can’t wait to build a family together,” Chase said in an interview with PEOPLE magazine in October. And while they never settled on a wedding date, they were already planning their life together and were excited at the prospect of having children.

“I want to have as many children as she wants to have. I want a big family. I mean, I come from a big family so I don’t ever want an empty house. Family is everything,” Chase said just a few months ago. “I’d have a baby right now, but she wants to get married, do as [is] the traditional way, which I respect that.”

This Isn’t the First Time Chase Chrisley and Emmy Medders Split

For those who haven’t followed along with Chase Chrisley and his relationship with Emmy Medders, it’s important to note that this isn’t the first time the two decided to split – though it certainly seems much more serious now. Their first separation came in August 2021 – about 14 months before the engagement.

Chase explained how their relationship and what they wanted out of life wasn’t ‘matching up’ at the time, which led to them growing apart. “I think that it just came down to we kind of looked at like what we wanted in life, and right now, it’s not matching up,” he said in an exclusive interview with Life & Style.

Nonetheless, the couple reconciled and Emmy eventually opened up about the tumultuous time in their relationship on a podcast with Chase’s sister, Savannah Chrisley – where she confirmed they separated for a couple of weeks, though it felt like a couple of months. Will Chase and Emmy reconcile again?

At this time, it appears not. “The couple has decided to go their separate ways. Chase has nothing but love and respect for Emmy and wishes her well. Unfortunately things didn’t work and they are both moving on with their lives,” wrote Adam Ambrose – Chase’s representative – in a recent statement.
