While kicking off his comedy tour titled Chris Rock Ego Death World Tour in Boston on March 30th, Chris Rock addressed the slap that was heard around the world.

According to Fox News, as predicted, the comedian addressed the slap at the beginning of his set. After asking the sold-out audience how their weekend was following a two-minute standing ovation, he told the audience that their warm welcome got him “all misty and sh*t,” before adding that he “had a whole list of jokes before this week happened.”

Rock admitted that he was “still kind of processing what happened” on Sunday night. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Will Smith slapped Chris Rock in front of the world after he made a G.I. Jane joke regarding Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head.

Smith then proceeded to scream at Rock from his seat telling him to “keep my wife’s name out of your f*cking mouth.” Jada suffers from alopecia.

“I had like a whole show I wrote before this weekend,” Rock told the audience, according to The New York Post. “I’m still kinda processing what happened. So at some point, I’ll talk about that s–.”

As of now, Rock has decided not to press charges against Will. However, several famous comedians including Jim Carrey, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes have since spoken out in support of Rock saying Smith should have been removed from the Oscars immediately after his outburst. All of them said they are sickened by the incident.

Carrey called Hollywood “spineless” for celebrating Smith’s Oscar win following his shocking actions. In their first lengthy statement, The Academy revealed “Smith was asked to leave the ceremony and refused, we also recognize we could have handled the situation differently.”

The Board of Governors will hold a vote in the next couple of weeks to decide whether or not Smith will keep his Oscar. It’s unclear when exactly Rock will choose to address the situation further once he has been about to process what went down a little more.

According to Rock’s brother, Tony Rock, Will has not yet reached out to Chris to apologize to him personally. However, Smith did mention Chris by name in his written apology he posted on Instagram.

“I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong,” Smith wrote, in part. “I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.

Chris Rock will be performing in Boston tomorrow and Friday as well.
