One of the many reasons we love Chrissy Teigen is that she is quick to call out the online mom-shamers. After the mom-of-two shared a sweet photo of her and husband John Legend to Instagram, she received some rather insensitive comments. Apparently, a few followers felt the need to question if Chrissy, who was wearing a towel as a wedding dress in honor of the reality series Four Weddings, had a baby bump.
In an effort to remind us all that it’s not cool to ask a strange woman if she’s pregnant, Chrissy responded to the pregnancy questions.
“I know you didn’t mean it to be rude but think twice about asking this, there are people who have trouble conceiving and it hurts every time,” replied Chrissy. “I’m not pregnant but would be happy if I were. But I’m also happy not to be.”
One fan had our girl’s back by adding that it’s hurtful to speculate whether a woman is pregnant or not when “you are trying to lose your baby weight and still have a bump and people ask or think this question.”
Chrissy agreed and replied, “Yeah I’m already reminded of it every time I get out of the shower. I don’t need to hear it on the daily lol.”
We’re appreciative of Chrissy’s constant realness AND all of the adorable moments she continues to share with her millions of followers.
And remember: Maybe think twice before asking if a stranger is expecting! That rarely ever comes across as anything other than rude, invasive, and misguided.
