You can count Chrissy Teigen among the many supporters of the Duchess of Sussex. Meghan Markle reached out to the Cravings author following her devastating miscarriage last summer, Teigen said in a new interview.
While speaking with Andy Cohen on the Watch What Happens Live! aftershow, she characterized the Duchess as “really wonderful and so kind.”

“Yeah, she’s been so kind to me ever since we connected,” Teigen told Cohen. “She had written me about baby Jack… but yeah she is really wonderful and so kind, just as kind as everyone says she is.”

She goes on to explain that she does not understand all the criticism surrounding the Duchess. “That’s why you look at everything and you’re like ‘My god, what is absolutely wrong with people that they have to make this person out to be so malicious or so crazy?’ when it’s just as simple as them being as kind as everyone says they are.”
Teigen also said that she spoke with Markle after the bombshell interview that the former Suits star and her husband, Prince Harry, did last month with Oprah.

“I think when I ended up watching it, it was like ‘Holy s*** this is big,” Teigen explained to Cohen, adding, “But also I waited a long time to watch it, so I’d already heard so much about it.”
When pressed about the conversation by Cohen who wanted the “extra tea,” Teigen said she did not have any to share and that she knows as much as the public does about Markle’s time in the UK.
“No. I think she’s been very honest [and] open,” the cookbook author and model said. “I think her truth has been her truth since the very beginning.”
Markle and Teigen first met when they both appeared on Deal or No Deal together, according to People. In recent years, the social media savvy star has spoken out in Markle’s defense.
“this meghan markle s*** is hitting too close to home for me,” Teigen tweeted in early March. “these people won’t stop until she miscarries. f****** stop it.”
Before that, in 2018, when Meghan Markle was embroiled in a “scandal” caused by her own father, Thomas Markle, Teigen came to the Duchess’ defense. Thomas had done an interview with The Mail on Sunday saying that he was disappointed in the lack of contact he had with his daughter following her marriage to Harry.

Teigen tweeted out screenshots from the story that show quotes from the royal’s father. “this guy…this guy sucks. what is wrong with him?” she wrote alongside the images. “let your daughter be happy, please. this is embarrassing.”
We are happy to see that the respect is mutual between these two very bright stars who are both regularly scrutinized by the press and public. It’s hard for moms in public life and just in general.
