Chrissy Teigen Slammed for Sharing a Video of Her Daughter as a Girl Scout

The conversation around celebrity parents using their popular platforms to promote their children has continued. This time with Chrissy Teigen.

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, people were up in arms several weeks ago after actress Alyssa Milano used her Twitter account to promote a GoFundMe she created for her 12-year-old son’s baseball team.

Now, Teigen is doing the same thing by promoting her oldest daughter Luna’s Girl Scout cookie sales. Teigen shared a video of Luna, who revealed that she is now a Girl Scout Brownie looking to sell some Girl Scout cookies.

“My own daughter is now in the cookie selling game! If you’d like to support the awesomeness that is @girlscouts, please screenshot this and you can click for her link in your photos! Please note this is for shipping only, as we cannot trek across America at this time lol,” Chrissy captioned the photo.

To be fair, there are several stark difference between this case and Milano’s case. Nonetheless, people are comparing the two and several people in the comments were upset with Teigen over it.

“Okay sort of hate this tho. Maybe link the whole wide internet to a low-income girl scout who isn’t already totally hooked up to sell all the cookies,” one commenter wrote.

“Why on earth are you asking your followers for this? You’re a millionaire and some people can’t even afford to live right now. I’m really disappointed to see this,” another added.

While others defended Teigen’s right as a mom to use her social media however she pleases.

“Hey y’all. Despite her parents being celebrities, Luna is still a girlscout that deserves to be supported and her parents are selling in their workplace as you would. If you choose not to buy from Luna then I hope this message encourages you to buy from someone else but DON’T bash her mom for sharing her excitement to be a girl scout,” a commenter wrote.

And other moms agreed. “People criticizing this, really?? This is exactly what every mom does for their daughter. This is how cookies are sold now. I did this literal exact thing on my IG three days ago. Because her mom is famous she shouldn’t do it?”
