Cody Longo, best known for his role as Nicholas Alamain in Days of Our Lives in 2011, has passed away at just 34 years old – he was set to turn 35 on March 4th. His representative, Alex Gittelson, confirmed his death in a statement over the weekend.
Now his cause of death has been determined. According to TMZ, Longo reportedly died of long-term alcohol abuse. The autopsy report obtained by TMZ continued saying the manner of his death was listed as natural due to “chronic ethanol abuse.”
“Cody was a dear friend … before he was a client. My heart breaks for his amazing wife and kids. He had taken some time away from acting to pursue his music career and spend more time with his family in Nashville, but we had kept in touch regularly, and he was excited to get back into acting,” said Gittelson.
Gittelson praised Longo as a ‘loyal, loving and talented person’ who loved his wife, loved his kids, and loved his fans. He was set to star as Luke in an upcoming film called Killing Games alongside Chelan Simmons, Garrett Clayton, Tiffany Hines, Jordan Hayes, Hayley Hasselhoff, and Robert Vito.

Cody Longo, who was sometimes credited as Cody Anthony, was as talented an actor as he was a singer. He was part of a band called Forever the Day between 2010 and 2012 – he was the band’s keyboardist. He eventually left the band and signed with Mirrorball Entertainment to pursue a solo career.
Over the next few years, he released several singles that made their way up the charts – including popular singles such as ‘Atmosphere’ (his debut), ‘Falling Into You,’ and ‘She Said.’ At that time, he had already built a successful acting career, appearing in a number of popular television shows and films.
In October 2015, Cody married the love of his life – Stephanie Clark. Over the past seven years, the couple welcomed three children into this world, including a 7-year-old daughter named Lyla, a 5-year-old son named Elijah, and a 19-month-old son named Noah. They shared photos of their children regularly.
“Cody was our whole world. The kids and I are shattered and beyond devastated. He was the best dad and the best father. We will always and forever miss you and love you,” said Clark in a statement following the news of his passing. His legacy will continue to live on through Stephanie, Lyla, Elijah, and Noah.
