Dad With COVID-19 Reunites With Son On His Birthday After 2 Months Apart

One little boy named Corbin has been wishing to see his dad, who has been in the hospital for 55 days from COVID-19.

But due to hospital rules, the 8-year-old has only seen his dad via Zoom and Facetime. That is — until Corbin’s birthday wish came true to reunite with his dad!

The heartfelt reunion was recorded by Corbin’s mom. After wearing the necessary garments, Corbin can be seen walking down the hospital hallway and into his dad’s room.

His father, who is sitting up in a hospital bed, is then met with a tiny “Hi!” by his son aaaaand cue the tears!

“Hey, Buddy.  Happy Birthday,” the father says quietly.

And as he does, Corbin steps closer to the hospital bed and grabs his dad’s hand.

The sweet moment is going viral for the obvious sweetness of it all — but the creeping realization that COVID-19 isn’t going anywhere soon lingers with many.

New admissions have decreased “considerably” since they peaked in January, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, but they’ve been rising again for the last month, because of outbreaks in certain states.

And while the percentage of ICU admissions has thankfully been declining the concern is not going away anytime soon.

Let’s hope Corbin and his father be the lucky few to go home soon.
