As The New York Post reports, the Perkins County Sheriff’s office has since conducted a criminal investigation into the allegations. Stickley has now been charged with committing one count of negligent child abuse not resulting in serious bodily injury.

As the affidavit obtained by NTV reveals, “The boy’s mother was provided with a Snapchat video taken by Stickley.”

Stickley was arrested after the 20-month-old’s mom saw a video recorded on Snapchat by Stickley. The video showed Stickley sweeping the boy’s feet out from under him, which resulted in the child falling.

The boy hit his buttocks, back, and head on impact. The video allegedly showed the toddler bursting into tears as a result.

In the report, an investigator wrote that Stickley “intentionally hurt the boy because she started the Snapchat recording before sweeping his legs.” Some of the teenager’s co-workers helped identify that it was Stickley in the video based on her clothing, The New York Post reports.

The incident took place in the toddler room of the daycare facility. According to the Toronto Sun, the incident first occurred on April 25, the investigation was launched two months later in June.

It’s unclear if this was Stickley’s first offense or if the investigation led to the discovery of more incidents.

The Post further reported that Stickley was charged with abuse after being pulled over on June 25 under the suspicion of reckless driving. Her arrest came one day after police attempted to interview her on June 24.

At the time Stickley claimed “to be too busy to do so for the next two to three weeks.” She has since been released from jail on a $7,500 bond.
