Dixie D’Amelio Hospitalized After ‘Feeling Faint’ in West Hollywood Ahead of Family’s Shoe Launch

Dixie D’Amelio found herself in the back of an ambulance after ‘feeling faint’ while working in West Hollywood around 3 p.m. on Thursday. Considering she nearly lost consciousness, an ambulance was called and she was placed on a gurney before being taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

It was quickly learned that she ‘fell faint’ due to dehydration and was immediately placed on an IV to help replenish her fluids. Luckily, everything turned out to be okay and the incident wasn’t all that serious once she got the treatment she needed. The 21-year-old was back to her normal self several hours later.

While she was in the hospital, Dixie D’Amelio took to her Snapchat and posted a photo of her hooked up to several monitors and wearing a face mask. She was replying to one of her friends/followers, who asked if she was okay after the incident. “Got [too] excited about the shoe launch,” she wrote in the caption.

Later that same day, Dixie D’Amelio was back to the grind as she attended the D’Amelio Footwear launch party. The shoe brand is the first brand under the newly-minted D’Amelio Brands – a company founded by Dixie’s parents, Heidi and Marc D’Amelio. The family expects to launch more brands in the near future.

D’Amelio Footwear was created by Dixie, Heidi D’Amelio (mother), and Charli D’Amelio (sister) – with the help of designer Lauren DiCicco, who was instrumental to the launch of Jessica Simpson’s shoe brand. The D’Amelio collection will feature everything from sneakers to sandals, boots, heels, and more.

Despite her minor health setback on Thursday, Dixie made it to the launch party and was all smiles as she enjoyed the night with her friends and family. According to Page Six, the socialite was wearing ‘a black bandeau top and matching maxi skirt’ and had her ‘platinum locks slicked back into a ponytail.’

Dixie D’Amelio has yet to comment on the recent incident, but reports indicate that she’s feeling much better and she appeared to be completely fine at the launch party. It didn’t seem to keep her down for too long and she’s now back to her regular routine – but hopefully drinking more water this time around.

Dixie D’Amelio Has Struggled With Health Complications in the Past

This isn’t the first time Dixie D’Amelio has struggled with a health complication, having been open about her diagnosis with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, PMDD is ‘a much more severe form of premenstrual syndrome (PMS)’ – treatments are available.

Dixie first opened up about her diagnosis in October 2022 during an Instagram Live session. She had been battling symptoms for nearly seven years before receiving the diagnosis and explained how the disorder ‘really affects your moods and your behavior and many different parts of your life.’

“I didn’t realize how much it was affecting me until I got to this point I was in last week. But it really disrupts my life and my attitude and my personality and my relationships and just who I am as a person. And it’s very obvious to see in these next couple episodes of the show,” she added in the Live session.

The D’Amelio family rose to prominence when Charli D’Amelio started going viral (regularly) with her dances on TikTok and Instagram. It didn’t take long for followers to grow fond of her family, which resulted in the family starting a reality TV show on Hulu – the family has been a household name ever since.
