Donny Osmond and his wife, Debbie Osmond, are having quite the year so far. Not only did the couple celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary on May 8, but they recently welcomed their 14th grandchild into this world. While that makes Osmond quite the busy grandfather, he wouldn’t want it any other way.
The 65-year-old singer and television personality took to Twitter on June 29 to share a photo of himself holding his newest grandchild – bringing his total to 14. In the caption, he thanked his son, Christopher Osmond, and his wife, Alta Osmond, ‘for bringing another beautiful grandson into Debbie’s and my life.
The little boy’s name is Dune Tyler Osmond and he’s already being praised as an ‘angel from heaven’ by his loving grandfather. It’s Chris and Alta Osmond’s second child and first son after welcoming their daughter, Aussia Rae Osmond, on November 26, 2020 – they got married in Utah on May 11, 2017.
On Wednesday (July 19), Donny Osmond sat down for an interview with Jed Tavernier of ET Canada. When Jed brought up the fact that Donny has himself a ‘soccer team of grandkids,’ Donny joked about how much of an understatement that was. “Oh, more than that. Several soccer teams,” he responded.
Donny and his wife, Debbie, have been married since May 8, 1978. They’ve built quite the family tree over the years – the couple share five sons together (Don, Jeremy, Brandon, Christopher, and Joshua), in addition to the 14 grandchildren.
He described his growing family tree as ‘sweet chaos’ and gushed over a recent 4th of July party they had as a family. “We had a 4th of July party just not long ago and had everybody over. It was… we had the time of our lives. It was fantastic,” he said in the interview – just a few weeks after Dune Tyler was born.
Osmond also gave his son, Chris, a little encouragement – not as a father, but as a reality TV star. Chris is currently starring in the second season of Claim to Fame. “He knows what he’s doing. He’s been surrounded by show business his entire life, but I think he’s doing a fantastic job,” Osmond said.
Donny Osmond Brings Vegas to Niagara Falls
During his interview with Entertainment Tonight Canada, Donny Osmond provided some insight into his upcoming performance at the Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls. He’ll be taking the stage on Saturday for what’s supposed to be an incredible night that gives the audience a look at what Vegas is all about.
“I’m bringing the entire production out to Fallsview. It’s the full Las Vegas show. All the dancers, the band, the technical aspects, the screens, the lights, the production. It’s all coming to Fallsview on Saturday,” he said of the show – adding that most artists don’t go all-out with stuff like this, but he is and he can’t wait.
For Donny Osmond, this is nothing new for him. He’s been performing in front of large crowds since he was a teenager – originally rising to fame as a member of The Osmonds, where he performed with his four older brothers. He then began a solo career and also found success as a duo with his sister.
