For those unaware of the Duggar Family story, controversy has rocked the famously large family since 2015, when publications got their hands on newly unsealed police documents that revealed the eldest Duggar sibling, Josh Duggar reportedly molested at least four of his siblings and a family friend. Several months later it was alleged that Josh Duggar had an Ashley Maddison account, which was a website for married people who were looking to be unfaithful.
Several years later, in 2021, Josh Duggar would be arrested for possessing child pornography on his work computer. And months later, he would be found guilty.
He is currently awaiting his sentencing hearing which is expected to occur in May. While the world has had its opinions of Josh, people also questioned his parents handling of the situation in which Josh inappropriately touched his underaged sisters when he was a teenager.
According to reports, many believe what Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar did to reprimand Josh’s behavior wasn’t enough. According to Bobye Holt’s testimony, the Duggar patriarch turned to them for guidance.
After Josh confided in Bobye, she claims she tried to tell Jim Bob and Michelle about their son’s behavior but they told her “they didn’t want to hear it. People began to be aware.”
In Jim Bob’s testimony, he admitted to knowing about Josh’s unsavory actions and that the behavior had continued. “[Josh] had crossed some line right at that age of curiosity, at 14, your hormones are kicking in.”
Jim Bob continued saying that “We tried to handle things in-house,” he said. “It was a very difficult time in our family’s life.”

It was also reported that Josh was sent away for some time in order to deal with this behavior. Now reports are suggesting that the behavior camp Josh was sent to, another Duggar sibling was recently spotted at.
According to Cafe Mom, the camp is known as ALERT Academy. According to the academy’s website, “The International ALERT Academy is a unique Christian training and service organization whose mission is to equip individuals with the tools to prepare them for the specific callings God has placed on their lives.”
And as a recent Instagram post revealed, Josh’s younger brother, Jackson Duggar was seen as a member of the academy. Because the Duggar family openly congratulated Jason and James Duggar in 2019 for graduating from the academy, it’s unclear if every Duggar man goes to this academy or if it’s just the ones who are troubled.
Katie Joy, who is a known critic of the Duggar family alleges that she spoke with a former graduate of the academy. She claims that the academy is often used as a place to correct bad behavior in young men.
“A graduate told me that cadets aren’t allowed to speak for the first 2 weeks,” Katie Joy alleges. “Cadets are forced to go through brutal training to help them gain better spirituality to conquer [these] struggles.”
