Hoda Kotb is the toddler whisperer!
TODAY’s Dylan Dreyer admitted how her son Oliver was busy throwing tantrums throughout Labor Day weekend. And the only person that could calm him down was, yup, you guessed it….Hoda!
Dylan also posted the sweet snap to social media, explaining that her little Ollie had a tantrum and didn’t want to be held by anyone but Hoda.
She wrote: “When your toddler is mid-tantrum and hates the thought of even being near you, just give him to @hodakotb #hodaforthewin #immediatelyasleep #hugsfordays.”
Hoda wrote on her own page alongside the same picture: “One of my favorite moments if the weekend… hugging @dylandreyernbc ‘s Ollie…”
But when Hoda is not available, Dreyer, who is also mom to Calvin, 4, revealed her own tips for calming down overstimulated tots.
“This worked with Calvin; for some reason it does not work with Ollie,” she explained to 3rd hour co-hosts Craig Melvin and Sheinelle Jones.
“But whenever Calvin was having these meltdowns — you know, like hitting the floor, really angry — I read somewhere that if you say, ‘Do you want a hug?’ it just kind of, like, jars them.”
Dylan continued, “He would come over and give me a hug, calm down and then we can talk about why he was upset.”
That being said, what works for one kiddo, may not work for another. Dylan admits that Oliver isn’t quite on board with this method yet. “I’m not sure if he’s too young or too stubborn,” she said.
Dreyer is currently working on a children’s book while pregnant with her third child.
She recently shared an update to Instagram, letting her followers know that either the book, titled ‘Misty the Cloud: A Very Stormy Day,’ or her baby will be arriving very soon!
“Ollie’s mood capturing how I feel having to tell you Misty the Cloud: A Very Stormy Day has been delayed a little bit longer! Thanks so much for your patience…we only have to wait until October 12 for you to be introduced to her turbulent world! Place your bets who arrives first…Misty or baby #3…the race is on! In the meantime, swipe through to meet Misty’s friends. [Click] the link in my bio to preorder now and for those of you who already have, I honestly cannot thank you enough for your support!”
