Since the reports of harassment were made public, Ellen DeGeneres has gone through a bit of a rough patch…
And now that rough patch seems to have escalated following a recent tweet she shared in relation to the Derek Chauvin trial…
The tweet by DeGeneres was sent out following Chauvin’s guilty verdict of murdering George Floyd.
Scroll to the end to find out what her tweet said.
DeGeneres seems to have been hit hard this last year by scandalous reports.
For the talk show host, it has been accusation after accusation.
She has been called out for being cold, although much of her brand is centered around being nice…
And another was reportedly remaining oblivious to the harassment going on behind the scenes of her show.
Bad press seems to be following her everywhere as of late.
And things seem to have recently reached a breaking point.
Some people are over Ellen and her antics.
Some of those people are former employees who have a lot of remarks to make about her.
Serious allegations have since come to light regarding her behavior and poor treatment toward the staff who work for her.
And it begs the question how did it remain hidden for such a long time?!
And now that the cat is out of the bag, a lot of people are curious and asking questions.
Now it seems that with all this recent news, people are starting to view Ellen as controversial.
So let us help you remember why.
Do you remember her treatment of Sophia Vergara?
Vergara has a strong Colombian accent, something she has become known for, which for some reason, Ellen has always perceived as humorous.
A couple of years back Ellen mocked Vergara numerous time while the actress was a guest on her show.
Ellen even went as far as to offer to teach Vergara new words while claiming her English had improved.
The next incident is regarding a gift that was sent to Ellen by a fan.
It was a drawing of Ellen…
A drawing in which she just mocked. And that’s not all of the things Ellen has done publicly that tainted her image…
In addition to horrific claims from former employees of The Ellen Show, the show’s future may now be in jeopardy.
It is believed that the show is now struggling to secure advertisers as a result. And she is also reportedly having trouble booking A-list celebrities. And after the harassment claims came to light, Ellen’s show experienced a huge dip in ratings over last summer.
And ever since Ellen’s image took a hit, an ‘Ellen’ staff member has since spoke out about what was going on behind the scenes.
An insider has revealed: “We’re trying to be a content house, but we have no content. For the first time, everyone was starting to ask us, ‘If you have an idea, tell us because we will listen. If you have an idea for a celeb, even if they’re not A-list or famous, we’ll take anyone who will bring us numbers and eyeballs’.”
However, The NYT recently revealed that the statistics indicate the show is doing much worse than that.
It’s believed that Ellen’s show lost a total of 1.5 million viewers with all the scandal surrounding it.
But now things may have gotten even worse for the host…
After Ellen shared her thoughts on Twitter following the announcement of the guilty verdicts of Derek Chauvin’s trial.
And there were a lot of people who commented on the tweet who didn’t appear to be too happy about it.
Do you blame them?
You can see the tweet for yourself here:
It seems as though by tweeting the single word ”Justice” in response to the verdict, Ellen’s response was very clear. Do you think she should have elaborated more? Let us know in the comment section.
