A new autobiography on Elon Musk – Elon Musk by Walter Isaacson – is set to release on September 11, giving fans a fresh look at the life and career of the richest man on planet Earth. While we’re still one week away from getting to read it, The Wall Street Journal recently gave everyone a brief sneak peek.
On August 31, WSJ published an exclusive excerpt from the book that describes his recent takeover of X (formerly known as Twitter). In that excerpt, we learn a little more about Musk’s ongoing rift with one of his daughters – who recently came out as trans and changed her last name in an effort to disown her father.
Isaacson, who spent more than three years following Musk, details how Musk’s daughter deliberately kept her gender change a secret from her father. He eventually found out through a third party, but she had already cut him out of her life as her ideologies weened toward ‘Marxism’ and full-blown ‘communism.’

His daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson – who turned 19 years old in April – came out as transgender three years ago – she was just 16 years old at the time. According to Isaacson, Vivian sent a message to Elon’s sister-in-law to reveal her gender change, but demanded she withhold that information from her father.
“Hey, I’m transgender, and my name is now Jenna. Don’t tell my dad,” the message read. Of course, Elon Musk would eventually find out and was even ‘sanguine’ when he learned of it, but his relationship with her was already strained beyond repair. Around that same time, she filed a request to change her name.
While half of her reasoning was so her name would better reflect her identity – she was born Xavier – the other half of her reasoning was so she could sever ties with her father. “I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form,” she wrote in the request to change her name.
According to Isaacson, Elon explained how his daughter ‘went beyond socialism to being a full communist and thinking that anyone rich is evil’ before cutting off all communication with him. It ‘pained’ him ‘more than anything in his life since the infant death of his first child, Nevada,’ who died at 10 weeks old in 2002.
Elon Musk Says Vivian ‘Doesn’t Want to Spend Time With Me’
While Elon Musk claims to have tried to repair his relationship with his 19-year-old daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, his attempts have seemingly failed as the two remain estranged from one another. Not only that, but Vivian continues to display changes in her ideology as she develops a more ‘woke’ way of thinking.
Musk allegedly blames her woke ideology on Crossroads – a progressive school she attended in LA. He has since developed an anti-woke mindset and has spoken out against the ‘woke’ society on numerous occasions over the past few years – essentially calling them anti-science, anti-merit, and anti-human.
Of course, we can’t be blind to the fact that he has also posted a variety of anti-trans sentiments and videos in the past – which could also be a source of his daughter’s hate towards him. Earlier this year, he vowed to lobby to ‘criminalize making severe, irreversible changes to children below the age of consent.’
