On Nov. 13, actor John Krasinski was named “People’s Sexiest Man Alive.”
“The Office” star explained how his reaction was “just immediate blackout” when he learned he had received the coveted titled, following in the footsteps of other actors like Patrick Dempsey, Paul Rudd, Michael B. Jordan, singer John Legend and many more.
“Zero thoughts,” he told People when he learned he would be named their Sexiest Man Alive. “Other than maybe I’m being punked.”
“That’s not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I’ll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me.”
Krasinski also revealed how his wife of 14 years, “The Devil Wears Prada” actress Emily Blunt, reacted to the news.
According to the “Jack Ryan” actor, Blunt was “very excited” when she heard the big news. “There was a lot of joy involved in me telling her,” he admitted.
As People reported, Blunt also joked that she was planning to wallpaper their shared Brooklyn home with photos from his Sexiest Man Alive photo shoot.
“Do we have that on camera?” Krasinski asked. “Because that’s like a binding contract, I think.”
“My children will love that, it won’t be weird at all,” he continued.
Krasinski and Blunt, who met through a mutual friend at a Los Angeles restaurant in 2008, share two children together, Hazel and Violet.

In his interview with People, Krasinski said it was love at first sight when he met Blunt at that restaurant.
“The second I met her,” Krasinski said he knew Blunt was the one for him. “I don’t know what happened, but I remember someone introduced us and it was across a room at a restaurant.”
“I walked over to her to shake her hand, and as soon as I shook her hand, I went, ‘Oh, (expletive.) And I just knew.”
Krasinski added how lucky he is to be going through life with Blunt by his side.
“It’s that beautiful thing where when you’re married to someone, you’re constantly learning and you’re constantly changing and you’re constantly evolving,” he says. “And I’m so lucky to go through all that with her.”
