Rapper Eminem recently opened up about being a father and the pride it fills him with. In a recent interview, he declared that “being able to raise kids” is his crowning achievement.
The 8 Mile star spoke with Mike Tyson on the podcast Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson. At 47, the dad shared how “proud” he is of his daughter Hailie Jade Scott and her accomplishments. His 24-year-old daughter recently finished up her studies at the University of Michigan.
When asked about Hailie and if she’s had children, Eminem replied ‘No babies.’
As part of their conversation, Tyson asks Eminem if his daughter has had any kids yet. Eminem replied, “No babies.” The musician went on to explain that his daughter is seeing someone, “Just a boyfriend. She’s doing good.”
“She’s made me proud for sure,” he said before explaining that his daughter graduated from college with a 3.9 GPA and that she studied psychology while there. Hailie Jade is Eminem’s daughter with his ex Kim Mathers.
In 2000, the rapper released the violent song “Kim” about the mother of his child. The lyrics are angry already, but even more controversy followed after a music video for the song depicted acts of domestic violence. In 2013, Complex ranked the song at number 21 of the 25 most violent rap songs of all time. The couple were on again off again for years and divorced a number of times before finally parting ways in 2006.
Eminem gushed about his daughter and how quickly she’s grown up.
Tyson and Eminem go on to discuss how fast kids develop. Eminem admitted, “It definitely is crazy.”
“I have a niece that I have helped raised, too, that’s … pretty much like a daughter to me, and she is 26. And then I have a younger one that’s 17 now,” he added, referring to his adopted daughters. Eminem adopted Alaina Marie Mathers the daughter of his ex Kim’s late sister. Eminem also adopted Whitney Scott Mathers who is Kim’s daughter with another partner.

Of all of his accomplishments, his daughters are what he’s most proud of.
“So when I think about my accomplishments like that’s probably the thing that I’m the most proud of, you know, is that — is being able to raise kids,” he shared, adding that it’s essential to keep kids “grounded” when they grow up with celebrity parents.
That’s good advice for parents in the spotlight and if his daughter’s achievements in school are any indication, we’d say that Eminem did a decent job of keeping her “grounded.”
Hailie Jade Scott talked about the support she receives from her father in an interview in 2018.
In her first public interview in 2018, Scott opened up about college life and her famous dad. She was asked if her father was supportive of her and she replied, “Of course, we are very close.”
Eminem and his daughter seem to have a great relationship and we’re happy for them. It’s an odd sentiment to be proud of your daughter for having “no babies” before mentioning that she graduated from college at the top of her class. Alas, that info did make it into the podcast.
We don’t know what’s in Hailie Jade’s future but she’s already a social media influencer.
In a piece about Hailie Jade in Daily Mail, she expressed an interest in becoming a social media influencer. She’s already amassed nearly 2 million followers on Instagram. At the time, she was doing everything on her own and was not represented by management.
A source said, “Hailie wanted to test the water by sharing some of her life on Instagram but is not yet ready to fully put herself out there.”
Having a supportive parent and staying “grounded” has really helped this young woman thrive. We’re so excited to see the places she will go. Eminem is right to be very “proud” of his daughter.
