A family friend is sharing an update on how Princess Catherine is doing while she undergoes preventative chemotherapy.
While talking with Vanity Fair, the source close to Catherine revealed that the princess has “turned a corner” when it comes to her treatment. As a result, Catherine is reportedly feeling a lot better.
“It has been a great relief that she is tolerating the medication and is actually doing a lot better,” a family friend told Vanity Fair. “It has, of course, been a very challenging and worrying time. Everyone has rallied around her—William, her parents, and her sister and brother.”
This update comes just a few days after Kensington Palace shared its first major update on May 21.
The update came after a video produced by the Princess and Prince William was shared publicly on Instagram.
After learning the princess had been kept apprise of certain goings on within her foundation, it sparked curiosity amongst her supporters about when Catherine might consider returning to her public-facing royal duties.
As a result, Kensington Palace issued a statement regarding Princess Catherine’s future.
“The princess is not expected to return to work until it’s cleared by her medical team,” said a Kensington Palace spokesman, according to the BBC. “Early childhood will continue to be central to her public work,” the palace continued.
As Vanity Fair continues to report, sources reveal that Princess Catherine is not in a rush to return to work and is only focused on her recovery at this time. But when she is recovered, the princess will fully return to her duties.
“There is no timeline, and there is certainly no hurry. It will be when Catherine feels ready and when she gets the greenlight from her medical team. But she will 100% be coming back to work, of that there is no question.”
However, while no official return date has been planned, the Daily Mail has reported that it’s possible Kate could return to work this fall.
