In celebration of the Holiday, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry released their family Christmas card to the public. And now, fans of the couple are elated to finally get a snippet of their six-month-old daughter!
As Mamas Uncut reported in June, Markle and Prince Harry became parents of two with the arrival of their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. The baby girl was famously named after her great-grandmother, the Queen of England Elizabeth II, and her grandmother, Princess Diana.
While announcing Lilibet’s June 4th birth, Meghan and Harry revealed the orientation of the name Lilibet. It is the deep personal nickname the royal family calls the Queen. The nickname was given to her by her late father, King George VI, but it was her late husband, Prince Philip, who kept the nickname alive.
King George began calling his daughter Lilibet because as a toddler, the Queen had trouble pronouncing Elizabeth. And the nickname eventually stuck. She even used her nickname to sign the personal final letter she wrote for her late husband, Prince Philip prior to his burial.
However, while her birth was made public, she didn’t have a widely publicized showing like her brother, Archie Harrison, did. That is likely because the couple no longer works for the royal family.
FINALLY! A Photo of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Youngest, Lilibet
And, as a result, Lilibet’s identity for the first six months of her life has remained a well-kept secret. Now, thanks to Meghan and Prince Harry’s Christmas card we are getting a first look at the baby girl and an updated look at Archie, who is now 2 years old.
The card shows the adorable family of four sitting outside their California home wearing the biggest of smiles. Archie and Lilibet are matching in all-white ensembles, while Prince Harry and Meghan are laidback in jeans and casual tops.
And while Lilibet is adorable as her parents look up lovingly at her big smile with their own big smiles, perhaps the best part of the photo is the adorable curly red hair Archie is sporting, just like his father. A quick side-by-side of Lilibet and Archie at her age shows a lot of similarities.
“This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa,’ and Lili made us a family. As we look forward to 2022, we have made donations on your behalf to several organizations that honor and protect families from those being relocated from Afghanistan, to American families in need of paid parental leave,” the couple wrote in their card.
How sweet!
