Artist, activist, and author, Gabrielle Union, has been wrapped up in some controversy surrounding America’s Got Talent. Gabrielle apparently raised concerns about a “toxic” and “racially insensitive” work environment.
Last week, NBC reported that an independent investigation was underway to look into the claims. Apparently, Simon Cowell smoked indoors on set, which is illegal in California. But he is an executive producer and his production company Syco makes the show. NBC, along with production company Fremantle and Cowell’s company Syco, said in a statement to CNN they are working with Union to “hear more about her concerns.”

We had a lengthy 5-hour, and what I thought to be, productive meeting yesterday. I was able to, again, express my unfiltered truth. I led with transparency and my desire and hope for real change.
