George Clooney has a genius parenting hack for this holiday season.
The “Ocean’s Eleven” star appeared virtually on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Friday, sharing his scheme to keep his 3-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, “in line” during Christmastime.
“At three years old, you’re just trying to keep your kids in line in general,” Clooney confessed, to which Stephen Colbert interjected, “People who say ‘terrible twos’ have never had a 3-year-old.”
“So I devised a way to get them to behave during this time,” Clooney continued. “When they’re asleep in the morning — they sleep in the same bedroom — they start to make noises and they’re fighting and you can hear the two of them getting at each other, and I stand outside the door and I go ‘Oh, hey, hi Santa!’ and then you hear Santa is there and he’s like ‘Ho ho ho!’”
“And I say, ‘What are you doing here Santa?’ and he says, ‘Oh, I’m just making sure that the kids are being good kids.’”
“And you can hear them going, ‘We are Santa! We are!’” he continued. “Then he leaves and they come out and they’re unbelievably well-behaved.”
Earlier this fall, Clooney admitted he is passing down his practical jokes.
George’s wife, Amal Clooney, recently joked how her husband spent most of quarantine teaching pranks to their four-year-old twins, daughter Ella and son Alexander.
“You just feel so bad for the world and all of that, you know? But our kids are four and they were two-and-a-half when it started so you know, they weren’t missing out on much out in the world,” George informed Entertainment Tonight.

“So, you know, I didn’t have to teach them trigonometry at home.”
Amal , 43, jumped in, admitting: “He’s mainly teaching pranks for the time being. But we’ll see if it develops.”
George replied, “Well, I think those can really pay off over time.”
But teasing aside, Amal called her hubby a “great teacher” and gushed about how “lucky” she was to have a “supportive partner.”
“It’s probably like many families where both parents work,” she said of the balancing act. “I’m lucky because I have a very supportive partner. And we do move around a lot, but we manage it, and I feel very lucky.”
