Ghislaine Maxwell Breaks Her Silence on Prince Andrew and Donald Trump From Prison

Nearly four months after Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison for sex trafficking, she’s speaking out. The interview with filmmaker Daphne Barak comes as a surprise considering Maxwell’s legal team has appealed the ruling.

While talking with Barak, Maxwell touched on several different topics and mentioned several people by name.

Maxwell first addressed her partner-in-crime Jeffrey Epstein, who hung himself in prison back in 2020. Maxwell told Barak that she regrets meeting Epstein, CBS News reports.

“If I could go back today, I would avoid meeting him, and I would say that that would be the greatest mistake I’ve ever made, and I would make different choices for where I would work,” Maxwell said, before revealing that she started getting negative feelings toward Epstein after he first spent time in Jail in Florida in 2008.

Barak went on to ask Maxwell if she believes she’s one of Epstein’s victims. “I don’t particularly like the word victim,” Maxwell responded. “It’s one that should be used very sparingly because, you know, today everybody is a victim of something.”

She also went on to speak highly of former president Donald J. Trump and Prince Andrew, who as Mamas Uncut reported, was sued by one of Maxwell and Epstein’s victims. Following her arrest, Trump publicly offered Maxwell his well-wishes, something Maxwell says brought her a lot of joy.

“I was very touched that he would remember me and that he would wish me well,” Maxwell told Barak. “And I was very touched by his remembrance of me.” She went as far as to say Trump’s words have her a “big boost.”

Maxwell also discussed the image that has gone viral of herself, Prince Andrew, and his accuser Virginia Giuffre. She went on to cast doubt on the image, CBS News reports, calling Prince Andrew a “dear friend.”

“I care about him,” Maxwell said of the Prince, according to Insider. “And I feel so bad for him.”

According to CBS News, Maxwell once told Epstein’s attorney via an email that the photo was real. Now, she is telling Barak that she doesn’t “recognize that picture, and I don’t believe it is a real picture.”

“There is no original… and there are that many other things besides that, I cannot hardly get into. But I would very much like to, and as soon as the appeal is over, I will be very happy to discuss it with you,” Maxwell continued.
