The wait is finally over! Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik welcomed their first child together, a baby girl. After a number of hints being dropped that fueled rumors that Hadid had given birth, the couple made it official by each posting precious photos of the newborn on social media.
In the black-and-white photos, a teeny-tiny baby hand can be seen wrapped around one of Malik’s fingers. It’s too cute for words!

“Our baby girl is here, healthy & beautiful,” Zayn captioned the [photo. “To try put into words how [I] am feeling right now would be an impossible task. The love [I] feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding. Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine, & thankful for the life we will have together x.”
Fans were very excited by the news and to learn that the couple had a daughter.
“Our girl joined us earth-side this weekend and she’s already changed our world,” the model wrote. “So in love.”
Many of Hadid’s famous friends filled the comments section with love for the couple and their new one, including Kourtney Kardashian, Olivia Culpo, and Dua Lipa, who is dating the model’s brother, Anwar.
“❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Welcome babygirl! So happy for you guys,” wrote Hailey Bieber.
“Congratulations Gigi & Zayn!! ????????????,” said model Emily Ratajkowski.
“Obviously, we wish [we] could’ve announced it on our own terms,” Hadid told Jimmy Fallon after announcing her pregnancy. “But we’re very excited and happy and grateful for everyone’s well-wishes and support.”
A source told People in May that the couple was “thrilled” for their baby and next chapter together.
“They’ve been through their ups and downs, but neither stopped caring about the other,” the source explained. “They’ve jumped on the timing of having a baby and are preparing for their new lives.”
The model didn’t share much in the lead up to the pregnancy and the last couple of weeks have accounted for what she has allowed fans to see. In late August, she shared truly stunning pregnancy photos online.

The 25-year-old acknowledged how some fans were “confused” about her choice to not discuss or post about her pregnancy but she said it is because she believes was “not the most important thing going on in the world.”

“That’s a reason that I felt that it’s not really something that I need to share apart from with my family and friends. Obviously a lot of people have lost lives due to [the] coronavirus that was in the beginning of quarantine and still happening,” Gigi shared at the time.
“And then we moved obviously into the reemergence of the BLM [Black Lives Matter] movement, and I thought that our presence on social media should be used for that.”
Gigi-watchers were first to find out about the birth after Mohamed Hadid, Gigi’s father posted a poem for his grandchild in a now-deleted Instagram post.
“Hello little grandchild, it is me, my heart as happy as can be. I wish for you the sun & moon, I wish for you a happy time. Know that grandpa’s always here, I’ll do anything, anything for you, my dear. When I heard you were on the way, I smiled and wiped a tear away. I cried the tear because I knew my heart would always belong to you.”
