Nearly two weeks after sharing the news that they are divorcing three months after getting married on national television, star of The Golden Bachelor Theresa Nist is speaking out.
While many fans of The Golden Bachelor have had intense reactions to their divorce announcement, Theresa is sharing what has brought her joy over the last few weeks.
On April 23, Theresa took to Instagram to share photos of her garden. She told her followers that “gardening has been a constant source of joy in my life.”
“It feeds my body, mind and soul. It does you a world of good. You’re out in fresh air and sunshine (or clouds and rain)and your hands are in dirt (wear gloves!),” she continued, sharing why it benefits her so much. “You’re getting plenty of exercise, pushing a wheelbarrow, pulling weeds, pulling the hose to water everything and walking everywhere.”
“You’re nourishing the soil and nurturing plants to grow to their best ability. It’s meditative and energizing all at once,” Theresa continued, adding that gardening is also something she does with her daughter.
“And in the early morning and at the end of the day you get to walk around or sit back and relax and bask in its beauty. My daughter and I highly recommend it to everyone!”
Theresa and Gerry Turner announced their separation in an interview with Good Morning America on April 12. “Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation and so forth and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion, mutually, that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage,” Gerry shared.
At the time of their announcement it seemed as though their living arrangements seemed to be the biggest sticking point in their short relationship.
Gerry explained that both he and Theresa are dedicated to their respective families. “So we looked at these situations and I think we just feel like it’s best for the happiness of each of us to live apart.”
In the end, the pair said they are still in love with each other and root for each other every day, but they are also continuing their quest to find love.
