When a Granddaughter Told Her Grandma Her Husband Cheated on Her, She Had Some Sage Advice We All Need to Hear
While we can’t verify the source of this advice, whoever came up with this life lesson is one smart cookie. If you’re currently going through a breakup or if you’re just curious about what this reported grandmother had to say to her granddaughter keep reading.
According to the viral post, one granddaughter came to her grandmother “shattered” after discovering her husband cheated on her. In an effort to help her granddaughter, the grandmother reportedly asked her to follow her into the kitchen.
It was in the kitchen that the grandmother grabbed three pots with boiling water, as well as an egg, a carrot, and some coffee beans.
After the grandmother got situated, she then asked her granddaughter to remove the carrot from the boiling water and told her to describe what the water did to the carrot.
“It softened the root of the carrot while it hardened the egg. In the third pot, the coffee beans were the ones that changed the water,” the granddaughter reportedly said.
The grandma then told her granddaughter to pick which one she most related to. The grandma continued, offering this sage advice:
“When difficulties enter our life, sometimes it can make us soft, and we are more flexible and more understanding. Other times it makes us tougher and stronger,” the grandma explained while referring to the carrot and the egg.
“However, if we chose to be a coffee bean, we do not let situations affect us, and we do the best we can to elevate ourselves to another level and change the situations in the way it suits us.”
