Princess Charlotte, Prince George, and Prince Louis are commemorating their late grandmother Princess Diana this Mother’s Day by making her sweet cards of remembrance. Americans, no, you did not somehow miss Mother’s Day this year! It’s celebrated on a different day in the UK.
The kids of Cambridge’s sweet cards were shared with the public via the Kensington Royal Instagram account. The colorful images reflect the children’s parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge‘s love for the late Princess Diana.
Check Out Prince’s George’s Card to ‘Granny Diana’ Below:
The first image in the gallery-style Instagram post shows a lovely landscape created by Prince George. “This year Mother’s Day will be different once again,” the caption for the image reads. “Many of us will be apart from our loved ones, but looking forward to a time in the not too distant future when we can give our mother a hug again.”
“But for those experiencing bereavement, today may be particularly challenging,” the caption continues. “Each year on Mother’s Day, George, Charlotte and Louis make cards remembering their Granny, Diana, for William.”
“Dear Granny Diana,” wrote Prince George on his card. “Happy happy mothers day. I love you very much and think of you always, sending lots of love from George xxxxx.”
Not bad for a 7-year-old, right?
Princess Charlotte Addressed Her Card to ‘Granny Diana’ as well. She Chose to Give a Heart with Some Butterflies for Good Measure.
Princess Charlotte’s letter starred a rainbow-colored heart and stickers of flowers, butterflies, and a mouse dancing ballet. “Dear Granny Diana,” she wrote. “I am thinking of you on Mother’s Day. I love you very much. Papa is missing you. Lots of Love Charlotte xxxxxxxxx”
Princess Charlotte has some considerable handwriting skills, right? We love that this 5-year-old still makes time to remember “Granny.”
Little Prince Louis’s Card Is Big on Energy!
Prince Louis, 2-years-old, gave a card featuring a heart and stickers of a rabbit and frog, birds, and several bugs. It appears that someone has helped a little bit, but we are very much into this cute toddler’s creative capabilities.

Yes, there was also cake! The Kensington official Instagram account also got an image of a cake added to it shortly after the cards were shared. “Celebrating two other special mothers today,” the caption for the image reads. It’s referring to Duchess Kate Middleton and her mother Carole Middleton.
The caption notes that the cake was prepared by (or at least partially decorated) Charlotte, George, and Louis.

A vintage photo of Kate as a child with her mother accompanied the image of the sweet bake. The pair is pictured holding hands and smiling for the camera.
What a lovely gesture for the little royals to pay tribute to someone who Prince William certainly missed very much on Mother’s Day. Over twenty years ago, on August 31, 1997, the Prince’s late mother died after sustaining injuries in a car crash in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel in Paris. The cards were not the only thing planned to honor her memory.

According to The Sun, brothers, Prince William and Prince Harry, will reunite to stand “shoulder to shoulder” at a memorial they arranged for their late mom. The event is slated to occur in July and will include the unveiling of a statue commissioned by the brothers.
We are happy these two can come together and offer respect and love for their mother. We are excited to see, what we imagine will be, the touching event.
